Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe

2/10 Terrible

"Our experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The reception staff who checked us in were unfriendly and came across as rude. The room did not include a microwave, and after multiple requests and discussions, one was eventually provided; however, it appeared to be a very low-quality unit. The room also had a strong, unpleasant odor, which forced us to keep the door open for ventilation. In addition, the room remained uncomfortably warm even with the air conditioning thermostat set to its lowest temperature. Considering we paid more than $900 for a three-night stay, it was frustrating to see such a lack of basic amenities and attention to guest comfort. The overall experience fell well below our expectations for the price."

"The room was very middling - poor lighting, a coffee maker missing parts to make it work, the stale scent of cigarette smoke, and carpet you don’t want to touch. Plus, a $30 per day resort fee when there’s really not much resort-y about the place. It’s simply a casino hotel with an overall desperate vibe."

"We only needed to stay one night, so cost was most important factor. For price, great hotel. Not many amenities, but close to shopping/restaurants. Older hotel, but room was comfortable, bathroom was clean, pool was nice, and check in was easy. Even received a complimentary beer, which I took full advantage of (nice touch!)."

"Very adorable and continently located hotel. My only complaint is that the bathroom fan ran all night and the exterior lights weren’t able to be turned off and I enjoy sleeping in a quiet, dark room next time I will pack my earplugs and eye mask. The live music and beer was a nice little addition to the stay. Would highly recommend"
