"Lovely hotel , old and characterful, the staff were very caring, breakfast excellent. Only one complaint. Pillows very lumpy and hard, probably need replacing. I find this is a common problem with hotels."

"It’s decent, needs a bit of maintenance work. Our room wasn’t super clean, bits in the bath and the cupboards had black marks on them. Hallways smelled a little of manure … The drinks were expensive too… Half the spa facilities were not working… Otherwise, the peacocks are a nice touch and the landscaping is beautiful. Staff are nice and helpful"

"Our apartment room was one of the best rooms we have stayed. Easily 1500 square feet, and a terrific bathroom with large bath and shower. The staff in the bar area were all very young and inexperienced. They had to ask what makes up an Aperol Spritz and it looked like the bar tender had never opened a bottle of wine before: once he had eventually located thr requested bottle.
