"Loud hotel. The pool is small and not on the beach. It’s a motel and tourist trap. I stayed in room 115 for one night and the echos in the courtyard coming from people milling around and having a good time until 3 am was awful. Normal hotels would allow you to check out and not charge you for the future nights- not here. Full price for all nights when you don’t stay. And this was during the weekdays. They had about a dozen open rooms. Screwed over by this place Never say here. "

"I recently stayed at 14 West Hotel in Laguna Beach and had a mixed experience. The location is definitely the highlight, it’s incredibly convenient and within walking distance to the beach as well as plenty of great food spots, which made getting around super easy and enjoyable. However, the property itself could really use some updating. It felt quite old and not very well maintained in certain areas. One of the rooms we were initially given had noticeably dirty carpeting, which led us to request a room change. Thankfully, the staff accommodated us, but it was still an inconvenience. Staff service wasn't the best at times. Overall, this hotel has a lot of potential because of its prime location, but it would benefit greatly from renovations and better upkeep. With some improvements, it could easily be an amazing place to stay."

"What an amazing time! Everything was exceptional. We took full advantage of all the amenities the resort had to offer. The staff at the front desk, all of the food service employees, housekeeping and valet were so professional and accommodating. Food and drinks were were 10/10. Room views were so picturesque. "Hotel has just undergone a management transition. New front desk staff were very helpful. Rooms and grounds are all in good condition. I paid more for a deluxe king room and it was smaller (no couch) than the regular king room my friends got. But I was on the top floor with a bit of an ocean view. My room door was glass and one wall was all windows facing a common walkway. The room needs better lighting as it was fairly dark. Mattress and bedding were very comfortable. Towels were thick and water pressure and temperature were fine. Pool area was well maintained with plenty of towels. The hotel advertises as adults only but there were young children at the pool. "

"Great location above a beach with easy stair access to the sand and terraced areas to sit and enjoy the view. Staff was very friendly (shout out to Tyson at the front desk and Gabe, the valet!). My room (519 above reception) has recently been remodeled and has a partial ocean view. A bit of street noise from PCH will affect sleep if you keep a window open. Some rooms are apparently not renovated. Friends staying in 308 reported at outdated bathroom. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Good value for the money in an expensive area. "
