The rooms are spacious and had all the amenities inside and outside except parking which is not expected in the busy street of town centre. "This place is a private house converted into guest rooms, including the cellar. My room was in the cellar. It didn't have a window, only a skylight with a grate across. It was dark and one morning there was a slug crawling on the floor. The bed didn't have a proper mattress or bedding. On top of the bed was a foam topper, on top of that a day blanket and a cover blanket that I don't think were clean. "I had a lovely stay for my first solo trip. Check in was easy and everyone I talked to who worked there was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. "This is a gem of a hostel, you can't go wrong. We had a 6 bed room to ourselves and, while initially looking a little on the cramped side, it was no bother at all as we mainly spent our time out and about. Spotlessly clean, great en suite shower, firm mattresses (which I thought were great, but guess that's down to personal preference!) The hostel is a 25 min walk from the centre of Cologne (Dom & railway station etc) and located a few mins walk from the buzzing Belgian Quarter, but still...

"TERRIBLE ATTENTION! NO RESPECT! The place was ok. The bathroom is shared with the other room on the floor and is outside the room. I never received the e-mail with the instructions about the keys and how to get inside the building. I waited outside in the cold and the man who answered the call (He never showed. There's no reception) repeated over and over that I should read that e-mail with the instructions. First he told me he didn't speak English, so he only spoke German. I called him again...
