"Really nice room. Very clean and and the ease of access to the car park and bar was brilliant. The only downside to this room is the lack of air conditioning available. We stayed during the English heatwave and it was very difficult to keep the room temperature down without leaving the patio sliding door open all night. Other than that, it's a beautiful location."

"The only problem was parking as the hotel car park was closed as they are refurbishing. There is a big multi-storey car park next door but difficult to find the entrance. Otherwise good place for an overnight stay. Staff are friendly, rooms nice and lovely breakfast."

"I have stayed at this hotel a number of times, it offers itself to be a comfortable hotel for affordable prices. The rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable. However the general maintenance of the room was poor, (cracks and dents in the wall). Also there was an issue with the plumbing, either an air bubble or too much pressure as the taps would groan and open every 10 minutes or so between 9pm and 11pm."

"I purposely booked the room with air conditioning as travelling on a hot day 26/27 May. On the hottest day in the UK, the air con at the hotel was faulty. I heard the staff say there was a maintenance happening on site. Well, stuck in a room, where the entire floor has no cool air conditioning, you guess how unpleasant that was. Room 264, the air-con control unit was faulty. It turned itself off every 20 minutes after manually restarting. Got changed to room 261, where the control unit worked but there were no cool air, just air circulation. Sleep was not happening…"

"Awful. This place is at the back of some kind of children's zoo activity and motoring place. I checked in late. I tried to call them using the property number given but it is the wrong number!! I messaged to say I was going to be late. They said ok. When I told them their number doesn't work they seemed unbothered. When I arrived at 7pm to my shock they said the room is not ready! It should have been ready from 1pm. The staff member shoved me into some 'holding' room saying the room is being cleaned. I asked them what would have happened if I arrived at 1pm to check in? Was told they are short staffed. Not acceptable. After about 8 - 10 minutes I was shown to room. First thing was the overpowering smell of a Yankee Candle (black cherry scent). I immediately blew it out. The room smelt old & musty. Anyway staff was 'friendly' enough, offering a fan because it was hot, and put some ice water in a bowl the room at my request because it was stuffy. It looked clean on the surface but the carpeted floor was filthy.. The fan I took from the wardrobe was full of dust. There was no hangers so I hung my clothes around the pole - my clothes had the dusty pole mark on it. The extractor fan in the bathroom was full of dirt, and the chair had stain marks on. I didn't want to sleep on that bed so I slept in my dressing gown and my own top for a pillow. Felt dirty and horrible and I couldn't wait to get out of there. Not worth the money and should not be on Expedia."

"A gem. An old YHA hostel and run by the same guy for over thirty years. If you want modern, hi tech, all singing all dancing then go to one of the big chains. If you want quirky, no frills, basic and a classic old hostel experience th3n this place has to be for you. I will certainly return."

"We asked hotel to confirm we could have a parking space, they confirmed by email but neglected to mention it would cost £15. Check on was great, friendly person and helpful. Room was nice but metal clothes rack by bed didn’t leave much room and I bashed my knee on drawer knob. Venue was not great for sleep, they had very loud music until 01:15 an we did not sleep well as road was also loud from quite early. Breakfast was ok but staff were everywhere still cleaning up, kept walking past with cleaning products and hoovering and mopping while we were eating which wasn't very nice. Person that served us was nice but manager was nowhere to be found and didn’t appear for check out so having to leave feedback here. Would not recommend staying here on a weekend. Shame as could have been lovely."
