"Great location and wonderful host Jerome makes you very welcome with good attention to detail Free car parking though is not close and though safe Id have preferred to pay and know the car was close by. "

"Great location and charming house. Our room was nice and spacious and the bathroom was lovely too. Le Lanternon has potential but misses the mark on a number of fronts, principally service related. It all starts with a bizarre check in rule of 5pm. There is no one available to even leave your bags with if you arrive early. We were offered breakfast the first morning and told to look at the picture of the offerings online for the ‘lux’ breakfast. The pic shows a beautiful spread with an overflowing bowl of colourful fresh market fruit, which we were told was bought the morning of. Reality was a half full bowl of banana, a few tiny pieces of kiwi and mushy melon. You had to scrape the condiments from almost empty jars and the coffee was mediocre at best. €25pp is not good value so go out and find yourself a nice cafè instead.
For the price of the room you get virtually no service. No room service during your stay or amenities in your room. You’re not even allowed to help yourself to a hot drink in the morning (unless you’ve paid for the overpriced breakfast). There are many other places to stay on the island where you’d get much more value for your money.

"We had a lovely 5 day stay in quaint Il de Re. The room was lovely. The pool perfect temperature and the staff couldn’t be nicer. Very accessible to restaurants and shops and the spa is a nice reprieve after biking all day. Highly recommend this little oasis."
"Easy pickup of keys and instructions . Property in great location and clean ( except for a few clothes tags left in wardrobe drawer ) patio area could be weeded and would make a better impression on arrival. Downstairs is basic and needing updating but a nice modern upstairs bedroom. The agency answered questions quite promptly by email but when asked how you get access to the pool area which had a gate with a lock on it we were told we would need to see some ‘ manager’ …..and they don’t know about the pool. The house is advertised with a communal pool so there should be instructions on access. Ends up you put your hand through to the other side of lock and open it from the inside !! And where we were supposed to find a manager I wouldn’t have a clue as never a soul for 5 days in the entire complex. Be aware no Wi fi either. "
"A really beautiful hotel with plenty of spaces to relax. Very cosy and the room was beautifully decorated. The staff were really welcoming, friendly and spoke fluent English. The breakfast was delicious and the atmosphere of the whole place was relaxed.
We paid for the parking, which was well worth it. It’s in a private, gated area and you can keep your push bikes there too. Highly recommend. "
"Amazing place. We had room 10 which I had seen some people moaning about in reviews as has no window, was dark with no ventilation and had a funny smell. Let me tell you that room 10 is great!!! Yes no window but doors have shutters which allow plenty of light and air in. Granted the wardrobe was a bit musty however nothing a bit of airing didn’t sort. If you want to stay at the Ritz, then book the Ritz, however if you want to stay at a beautiful French shabby chic cosy and tranquil hotel then this is for you!!! Cannot recommend highly enough!!!!!!!"
