The building was built in the 1940’s for C.J. Jones Lumber Company. After the logging stopped in 1956, it was brought to Everglades City and donated to the First Baptist Church of Fr. Myers.
Excellent example of old Florida architecture and is well maintained by Everglades City as the Town Hall. Everglades City was built by Collier Corporation and workers were paid in script to use the company store, banks, barber, or what ever service they needed.

VERY quiet little town. Every restaurant closes at 4 o’clock except 1 and it’s not very good. Locals were very nice. If you’re looking for small and quiet this is it.
