"This is a beautiful rental property. The view & setting is wonderful & very private, entered through electric gates. Ample parking & lovely big terrace with outdoor table. The lane to the property is unmetaled & a farm track but it's not very far from the road so did not pose an issue for us. "We enjoyed our stay stay at the very characterful Grand Hotel, across the road from the Torquay railway station on one side and the beach on the other, with bus stops closeby too. Breakfast is buffet style and you can book to have afternoon tea or dinner in the Brasserie. All the staff we came into contact with were polite, helpful and courteous. The outside pool was open but as we were exploring the area (we visited Totnes, Paignton, Kingswear, Dartmouth & NT Coleton Fishacre) we didn't have time to use the spa or pool, on this visit. We had a sea-facing room, with windows that opened but the road outside is quite busy, most of the time, so expect traffic noise. There was a portable fan in the room, which was helpful, as it was hot. We'd definitely book to stay here again."
