River cabin with a treehouse feel. Located directly on Fish River. Kayaking, campfires, fishing Gulfshores-38min, Downtown Fairhope-18min.
Kayaks and fishing poles provided. Samsung smart TV. Fast internet-300mbps. Summers can be hot outside...two A/Cs & a dehumidifier!

Update-new sleeper cocuh on order. The temporary couch is a non-sleeper couch. That being said, the loft area has a comfy full size bed

Bass-kin is a house located directly on the Fairhope side of Fish river. The cabin has a very inviting interior with wood panels, floor, and blinds. Bass-kin has great natural lighting with 11 windows(with natural wood blinds). You are so high up that you feel like you are in a treehouse. The ladder leading to the upstairs loft style bedroom has a full size bed with a great expansive view of the river. If you prefer not to use the ladder, the couch down on the main floor is a pullout queen size bed.

Enjoy everything about the property: kayaks, fishing poles, grilling picnic area with a Webber charcoal grill, fire pit,etc. The river is great place to spend your time! The Inside of the tiny house living area is a great place to watch a movie or football game. It has a comfortable leather couch and a 42 inch Smart TV which includes Youtube TV, which is the newest(best) streaming service that provides 70 of the best cable channels, and is easy to navigate. When watching movies, the smart tv allows you to log in to your Netflix or Amazon Prime account. We have Wifi internet with lots of power(300 mpbs!!). Big Daddy's grill is just a few blocks down the road. Big Daddy's is one of the areas most popular casual dinning restaurants located on the river.
The occasional rain shower can be a little bit of a bummer at most places, but not at the cabin. Its great to hear the rain on the tin roof.
Southern Summers can be hot. The cabin has two air conditioners and a dehumidifier... When combined it makes a comfortable temperature inside of the cabin.

A large portion of short term rental properties have the owners who live on or adjacent to the property. We do not live on or adjacent to the cabin.

Recent guest spotted a Bald Eagle at the property during their stay!

Because of hazards like a child falling throught the hatch of the sleeping area and the rocky bulkhead, we ask guests not to bring children.

We had a wonderful stay! The property was exactly what we were looking for—peaceful, safe, and right on the water with beautiful views. The owners were incredibly helpful, with detailed notes that made everything easy, and they responded quickly anytime we had a question. The home was well-stocked with everything we needed, and we loved having access to the kayaks and fishing poles. The quiet neighborhood made it even more relaxing. Highly recommend

Perfect Getaway

This is a great place to stay for a relaxing getaway. Everything you need for hours of fishing, kayaking, and sitting around a campfire is at your fingertips. Fairhope and the surrounding location provide endless activities.

R & R Weekend

The property owner is great to work with. Everything is organized and laid out for you at the cabin! If you want to be on the river or just want a quiet place to escape the day to day routine, it is wonderful! Stores are nearby and you can venture into Fairhope or to Gulf Shores with a short drive. It was absolutely what we needed this weekend!

Peaceful and private...

If you haven't been to Fish River, you're missing out! There were kayaks available to peruse this beautiful waterway which had very little boat traffic. The cabin was a peaceful and private getaway for me to come back to every night during arts and crafts weekend. Super comfy. Highly recommend!

It’s in the details!!!!! Our host thought of everything. The tiny home was lovely and had everything we needed for our stay. It was clean. The loft bed was very comfy. There was a fresh bag of ice in the fridge. Coffee provided. Any little thing that you might need right down to flashlights, matches, firewood, toiletries, stocked kitchen, tips for paddling… The personalized notes and welcome snacks offered a warm welcome. They also had it ready early so they offered an early checkin. We really appreciated that everything you need to enjoy your time here was included! We didn’t have to think ahead, pack anything special, or rent anything. All we had to do was show up and enjoy. Kayaks, lifejackets, fishing poles, even a pair of River shoes… all there. And on top of that, as someone new to the river, we found it very comforting that the owner mentioned in the book that if we got stuck or lost on the river, he was there to help and just a text away. Above and beyond to say the least! The tiny home is adorable! It’s well crafted, every inch maximized, and artistically constructed to create a stylish space with minimalist materials. Host, Michael, was very friendly, attentive, and equally respectful of space and privacy. You can’t beat the view and accessibility to the River. Truthfully, it’s everything it appears to be online with some additional little touches that made it extra special. We will cherish the experience and the memories for years to come. Highly recommend!

Perfect little getaway

This is our 2nd time staying here. The hosts have been excellent both times. Great location, perfect for kayaking, and easy fishing. If you're looking for a location near downtown Fairhope and close to the gulf, this is your place!

The cutest tiny house!

My husband and I booked this tiny house for a quiet getaway! It was perfect! We thought the loft area was quite cozy. We loved watching the boats pass by on the river. The kitchen was well equipped for us to make breakfast one morning. We would highly recommend this place! We were impressed with all of the information and the labels were very helpful. Michael was a pleasure to work with.

On the river

We loved this little cabin on the Fish River. It had everything we needed including many little things you'd never expect (like fishing gear and live bait). It's a great location. We also enjoyed the town of Fairhope.

December 1-3, 2023

I had plans to surprise my husband with reservations to stay at this tiny cabin on the river back in October!! We are local to the area and we had something come up that caused us to have to reschedule. The property owner, Michael, was more than understanding to accommodate us having to change our dates!! It was very easy and we’re thankful for how flexible he was! The cabin itself was so cute and quaint!! It was exactly what we love and was very clean and organized!! We grilled steaks the first night and were pleased to find all the essentials we needed for the charcoal grill provided for us!! We even had to text the property owner to ask if he had matches or a lighter to use and he was prompt to provide us an answer back!! All through the night and the next morning it had rained a lot, but we enjoyed having a slow Saturday morning listening to the rain hit the tin roof and watched a cozy Christmas movie in the living room!! The WiFi was very fast and worked great!! We honestly loved everything about our stay and have no complaints!! We also thought it was such a special touch to have welcome gifts when we arrived!! Overall, it was a wonderful place and we would love to stay again one day!!

Wonderful Place to Stay

This is a great little place to stay for a long weekend. The owners communication is top notch and the care they obviously have in making sure you have a great stay is very evident. The neighborhood is great (The neighbors two calico cats are the finest greeters there are, they made fishing so much fun!). It is a tiny cabin with alot of charm and thought put into it. We didn't want for anything while there (we didn't cook anything while there but there is a great array of things there to use). I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
