Very interesting boutique lodging. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Location close enough to historic district but far away from the main tourist nonsense. We would highly recommend.
This is the best independent boutique hotel we have stayed in.
The building has been modernised and decorated to an exceptionally high standard. The room we had was superb. Spotless.
Very quiet.
The staff were outstanding. Friendly, accommodating and very helpful. We met the owner too who is a delightful lady who takes a lot of pride in her hotel and comfort of her guests.
The table service breakfast is not to be missed. €15pp - it is an absolute bargain.
The pool and breakfast areas are very peaceful and tranquil.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. 5*
We had a wonderful stay. Pedro and Rena were excellent hosts, the amenities were as advertised or better, and the location was perfect for taking in old town. Highly recommend !
We cannot say enough good about this place. This felt like a home away from home. The staff were all extremely helpful and kind, and they made our first experience in Portugal a great one. (Not to mention the convenient location too!) 10/10 recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the perfect place to stay.
This property is in a quiet street off the main old part of faro. We used it for just sleeping and swimming as there are many cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance, but I think you order the night before if you want breakfast. Very attentive but discreet staff who cleaned our room and gave us fresh towels daily. We were there in 30 degree heat, so the air conditioning was a must. Faro is a lovely city to stay in if you want a low key stay and an inexpensive boat ferry can take you across the lagoon to faro beach. When there head left for tranquility. Many people go to the Algarve for the larger beach resorts but we don’t. We came across the city’s food festival one evening, on the far side of the old city, and seemed to be the only brits there. Opus One has huge rooms with enormous cupboard space and luxury bathrooms. Will definitely go again. Easy journey from airport and a local bus no 16 that takes you to the airport or beach, if you don’t take the ferry.
Amazing. Beautiful room, attached living area, close to shops, restaurants and sites, small balcony, shared pool. Wonderful breakfast. Would stay here again!
Great location, nice and central to the marina and old town (less than 10 mins walk). The interior is characterful and had recently been refurbished so everything was clean and fresh. In particular the bathroom was spotless and had a great shower. All the staff were great, particularly Rima the housekeeper - she was amazing, helpful and polite.
We had a big outdoor terrace overlooking the pool and it was a really nice relaxing place to hang out. The property is spread across two entrance doors, which I found a bit odd, but generally this is a great place to spend time in Faro. Sorry we missed the port tasting though!
This place is exceptional!! The staff and owners cannot do enough for you. The room was fabulous, with tasteful decor. It was was large with a lovely en suite shower room. The balcony was also an unexpected treat. Views were over a stunning garden with a pool. Everywhere was spotless. The breakfast was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Special mention to the loveliest person that is Rina. A wee gem. She really spoiled us. Pedro also great. Thank you everyone for making our Faro stay special. We will be back.
Booked for my husband and his friend and they sadly weren't there long as their flight in was delayed and it was only a one night stay.
But communication about the late arrival was excellent , especially the video on how to get in after hours both into the hotel and into their rooms.
If you need a place close to the airport , would highly recommend

Lovely stay - perfect location for city stay & lovely host
This hotel will pamper you with personal service. My room happened to have a whirlpool bath and a porch that led directly to the pool. They'll cook practically whatever you desire for breakfast. And the staff knew where the best spots were to find street parking, which can be an issue in the area. The hotel is within easy walking distance of everything you'd want to see in Faro. The only two small criticisms I might have: most hotels of this caliber will leave a couple of complimentary bottles of water in the room, but here they charge 2.50 euros for a 33cl bottle in the fridge. Fortunately, a block down the street you can buy a 50cl bottle for 50 cents. Also, in some future renovation, they might replace the twenty-something inch TV on the wall with a bigger one (they're not that expensive these days).
Absolutely an amazing place to stay! The staff are very attentive and are there to help in anyway. They are awesome!! When you leave for the day, on your return, the room is made up with fresh towels. The location is brilliant with everything close at hand and minutes away from historical sites, restaurants and transportation. It also has a small pool within a very private oasis in the rear of the small hotel/ guest house. We used this a few times after a busy day of exploring. There is breakfast on offer but we chose to eat out. All in all a fabulous place to stay for myself and my wife. We enjoyed Faro immensely and will definitely return in the future to do more exploring. We would stay again at this beautiful luxury guest house. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one. See you again another time. Nigel and Janelle Sanders 18th to 23rd May 2026.
We had such a lovely stay at Opus One! We were surprised with a free room upgrade which was amazing. The staff were so friendly and welcoming – a big thank you to Pedro for being so helpful and making us feel at home. The location couldn’t be better, everything in Faro is just a short walk away. We’d definitely come back!
The property was different but very nice.
All staff, very helpful especially Michael and Anna. We will stay at Opus One again and can highly recommend it 👍
Very clean and comfortable Room to stop in. Big cosy room with a beautiful, very big on suite bathroom and a walk in wardrobe area.
Very near to the Port and the town centre
