This picture was taken at the Huanghuacheng part, where the wall crosses a lake and is only in parts restored.

If you want to enjoy this monument to its full extent without being bothered by Showmen and merchants, get yourself a driver/guide and ask him to drive you to a quiet part of the wall. Huanghuacheng and Jinshanling are perfect spots to enjoy the impressive monument!
