"Was okay at best. They upcharge on everything. I bought the ocean view room but it was more of a view of the sand and partial ocean. $56 for parking every night. They were testing fire alarms for all 3 days so you couldn’t be in your room for at least 2 hours every day because of the alarm going off constantly. No compensation offered. Food and drinks sub par but super expensive. If you want an umbrella next to beach chair it’s additional charges. Just overall they up charge everything for what should be reasonable. Will not be returning."

"If there were an option to give less than 1 star, I would. On our first night, the comforter in our room was visibly dirty, with makeup stains and looked like it hadn’t been washed at all (see photos). We reported it to management and were moved to another room, which we appreciated—but the issues didn’t stop there. In the new room, there was ongoing maintenance right next door. The noise was unbearable, especially early in the morning. We even had to call the front desk to ask them to have the workers be mindful of guests trying to sleep. Unfortunately, the same thing happened again the next day with no consideration for how early it was. To make matters worse, we requested service through the in-room system for fresh towels and bathroom cleaning, and no one ever showed up—not once during our entire 4-day stay. This experience made what should have been a relaxing vacation unnecessarily stressful. I would not recommend staying here."

"Ants. I came home with a big painful insect bite near my eye. Had to ask for cleaning 3x and they never did. They only made the bed. Shower floor requires beach shoes"

"The Pelican Grand has a lovely ocean front view. In spite of that, we had several issues with our keys, elevators not working, water control in the shower broken and a very uncomfortable sofa bed in our suite. The beach, bar, and pool staff were all very accommodating. There is no coffee provided in the morning, the gift shop and the restaurant do not open until 7 AM for you to purchase coffee. The gift shop has one woman working a very busy counter as many want their coffee by then. There are many oceanfront properties in Fort Lauderdale that provide better amenities for the same, if not lower cost."

"The property was beautiful, the perfect location as it was a close walk to the beach. The staff were wonderful. Will 100% be staying here again the next time I’m in Fort Lauderdale."

"Excellent location and hotel. Loved the look and ambiance. Clean stunning room and street view. Bar staff wasn’t helpful over the phone to pre order. Unfriendly and didn’t help with options and accommodation towards food allergies or general switching. Pool decor was slightly rusted and pillows stained. But water was clean and warm like a bath. Amazing hott tube. Would stay again for sure!!!"

"The front desk woman was THE nastiest, most evil and downright sorry excuse of a person. The owner was completely aware and defender her. She opened my door without ANY warning so my dog barked. She then called me "a stupid bi$@t" loud and proud in front of the entire staff and other customers, again the owner was aware and claimed that my dog ATTACKED her, he barked. Don't expect to get any mail or packages, she won't be bothered. I watched her scream and hang up on a customer, he was locked out and she flatly told him that she refused to get off of her lazy as$ to walk upstairs to help him. My room was disgusting, I kept getting locked inside and she said that if it happened again she would leave us locked inside. She also tried to throw me out over a dog bark. The owner REFUSED to run my card and tried to force me to pay cash, like that's not odd at all. The ONLY perk to this place is the very nice man that works in the evening. NOBODY got in the nasty pool and I saw rats running around the property BEWARE OF THIS HELL HOLE AND THE NASTIEST FRONT DESK PERSON YOU'LL EVER MEET"
