"Moral of the story: I paid for a budget hotel and got a budget hotel. This was the only hotel on the beach under $200 a night on 2 days notice. Not a 4 star property but it was exactly what you would expect from $190 a night. The staff was great and the location was pretty good. This place definitely had its quirks.. the room was nice, but the bathroom doesn't have ventilation so after a shower it would be a steam room for 2 hours. The AC also barely works and the curtains have to be open 24/7 as they are too long and completely cover the AC when closed. the pools have limited seating but we never had a problem, dont even bother trying to get a chair by the infinity pool. The beach was great but they try to charge you 40 bucks for an umbrella and there's about a foot between each chair, not exactly relaxing, $25-50 for early check in, and $28 for a burger and fries. Everything there is certainly overpriced but it's a 15 minute walk to the main spots. The hotel was very busy and very loud. I personally would not stay here again, but this is exactly what I expected. Its fine in a pinch, Some people book a hotel for under $200 per night and expect it to be the four seasons.. Have realistic expectations for the cheapest hotel on the beach!"

"The housekeeper serviced our room and somehow locked us out and we had to wait 45 minutes for re-entry, someone at the front desk charged us a parking fee when we didn't have a car and the manager was very combative about it, and there were several strands of hair everywhere in our room. When I questioned about my deposit and obtaining a receipt, I was giving the run around and at that upset me because I encountered several issues and not one time did I complain, but this did it for me. I will not be staying here again. Accountability is key for me and my funds. "

"For the price of this hotel and the insane charges, the valet parking fee, the resort fees and the mandatory 22% gratuity, this resort should be stunning. Instead, our room was unrenovated (unlike the Expedia room pictures), the property was dated- peeling paint, mold everywhere you looked, electricity sockets hanging out of walls, broken lights, dingy elevators and dirty, salty windows everywhere. We checked in Thursday and the elevator (1 of 2) was broken the whole time for four days/nights. Wait times were 10-15 min for elevators and frequently they were too full to get in. I travel a lot and can confidently say this hotel is resting on past laurels. Staff were very nice, the wine list is superb and the food is great. Just be prepared to not have the old adage, you get what you pay for, fulfilled. "

"Easy parking, great AC, extremely clean rooms great grounds and easy access to area restaurant and bars. You couldn’t ask for a more convenient location. Staff is available and ready to assist with requests "

"Great location, right on the waterway with water taxi stop right there. Short walk to the beach, shopping and amenities close by. Nice lobby area with coffee shop, restaurant, games for the family and bar. Valet parking and free storage of your luggage if needed. Outside space was beautifully landscaped- lots of lounge chairs, patio bar and tables to sit and watch the boats go by or the draw bridge! Pool was lovely too! Outdoor games as well. Rooms were large and spacious but well worn. The biggest negative was the cleanliness… dishes still had food on them, sheets were clean but stained, same with white towels- not clean. Windows, appliances wiped with dirty cloth leaving gross film on everything!!! Bare minimum utensils. But the layout was really nice- could be awesome if refreshed and kept to a higher standard of cleanliness! Shout out to Steve at the front desk- went out of his way to call us a taxi ride to the airport!"

"We love the Coral Reef Guest House. This has become our favorite hotel on the Atlantic. Wayne and Jerome, owner and manager, are more than accommodating. Excellent customer service and an actual feeling of family instead of the cold box hotels. Thanks to Jerome, the rooms are spotlessly cleans, the beds are comfortable and the linens are always snow white. As I often say, Corral Reef may not be the Ritz, but it's better than the Ritz."
