"The apartment hotel is a new building in a suburban residential area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a good restaurant called Brothers nearby which serves gyros and other Greek meals and is frequented by locals. There is a mini mart and a couple of bakeries as well on the same street. There is ample street parking so it is a good location for those renting vehicles to explore Crete. We visited Knossos and Matala Beach but did not have time to visit the Old Town of Heraklion. "The hotel itself is beautiful, well-maintained and spotlessly clean. There is a sense of space and lots of little areas you can take yourself off to for a little bit of privacy. Everyone who works at the hotel is friendly and authentic and without a doubt it is the Team at the Irida which made our stay that extra little bit specials. "I booked Seascapes for a week in May 2024 - and was so impressed that I extended my stay for another five days! I can't fault anything: the rooms and amenities are superb, but overall it was the staff that made my stay hugely enjoyable and memorable. "After I checked in, the manager/owner was nowhere to be found, although, he posted his phone number on the glass of his office for emergency. There was no one around to reset the wi-fi after so many blackouts. I was unable to use the internet during my 7 days of stay. Housekeeping was so bad that no one to change the towels or bed sheets. "
