"This was a great find. The hotel is in a quiet area, not far from the railway station and a short walk from the town centre. The staff were very helpful and friendly and obviously used to dealing with foreign guests. There is a choice of basic or full buffet breakfast for a fee (about €7 for the basic one, about twice that for the full breakfast). This is available from 07:00, which is helpful if you have an early flight. The hotel has a nice pool, with a shady garden and sunloungers as well as outdoor seating, and you can get drinks from the bar to sip while relaxing. The room was airconditioned, which worked very well, and which we very much appreciated in the 37C heat! We felt it was a good price, especially compared with hotels in La Rochelle at the same period. Bergerac itself is fairly small, but has a good range of restaurants and other amenities. It is easy to walk around and there is a regular free shuttle bus that goes between the station, the centre and the waterfront, if you don't want to walk. There is a large tourist information centre close to the waterfront, with a wine centre offering free tastings. You can also get a boat trip on the Dordogne in a replica gabarre (flat-bottomed boat). We watched the solar eclipse from the old bridge, which was spectacular, but obviously a one-off event. Overall, highly recommended. We look forward to going back!"

"The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The pool was a welcome facility in the 38° heat and was well maintained and clean. A continental breakfast was available for an additional fee (10€ adults 5€ kids). The hotel was a short walk from the old town of Bergerac so well situated for shopping, eating out and sightseeing. There was secure parking available for a fee but there was also plenty of free parking in a public car park next door. Would definitely recommend this hotel."

"Fantastic villa in a beautiful and peaceful location with easy access to supermarkets and restaurants. Claire and Kieran have put a lot of time and love into ensuring their guests have well-equipped and beautiful surroundings. They are amazing hosts ensuring you have a relaxing holiday. The kitchen has everything you need and plenty of plates, cutlery, glasses, cups and utensils to enable large groups to be catered for with ease. Lots of fridge and freezer space and lovely areas to eat and socialise both inside and out! Two BBQs made cooking outside easy and 8 bedrooms with quality bathrooms made for a very comfortable stay for the whole group. We were aged from 5 to 87 and everyone had a wonderful time. We were able to socialise and find quiet spaces in the corners of the large garden when needed.Relaxing by the large well maintained pool with gorgeous views, playing pétanque on the pitch, using the games room with table tennis, darts, badminton, table football etc or out visiting the beautiful villages, wine tasting at the chateau’s or cycling/running through the countryside gave options for everyone to enjoy themselves. Bakery in the village and supermarket in Eymet was a 7 minute drive away, so no problem stocking up on provisions. Plenty of restaurants and all other facilities in the very pretty Eymet (7 min) and Bergerac (20 min).We felt very lucky to have found this gem of a place and were so well looked after.
