About this property
Lovely Family Home With Pool, Complete Privacy And Views Over The Lubero
Splendidly located within easy reach of Forcalquier, a lively village where the beautifully restored 13th century Convent lies at the heart of the old town. The domed chapel of the Citadelle perched high above the village looks down on bustling streets and the lively markets. A variety of activities are available around the village; free music concerts, horse riding, walks and hot air ballooning. La Petite Chanterelle is 10 -15 mins walk (+/- 1km) from the old town, near enough for an evening walk to a restaurant or a stroll to the boulangerie in the morning for fresh bread and croissants. The sunny terrace surrounds the house and has views over the Luberon, a fantastic haven for wildlife enthusiasts as Buzzards circle overhead and Nightingales sings in May.

Our stay at La Petite Chanterelle surpassed all our expectations. The house was beautiful, clean and well equipped with more than enough space for our group of 6 adults. The outdoor terrace with views over the countryside, the lovely pool, the peace and quiet…..everyone was happy just to stay put and relax! .It is an easy walk into Forcalquier with its fun market and a lovely area to explore by bike or car.
We hope to be back in the future!
We had a wonderful stay at La Petite Chaterelle. It suited us perfectly to be in a superb rural setting but within easy walking distance of Forcalquier. The house is well appointed and very comfortable. Good sized pool. Lovely terrace with fabulous views. Plenty of shade when needed. Excellent bbq! Helen was charming to deal with and super-helpful. An ideal rental property in all respects.
The views are stunning and the property was nice. However, it is worth mentioning that there are quite a lot of steps to negotiate to get to the property and driving the car to the property to unload, while possible is certainly not easy. The walk into town is perfectly possible but is uphill on the way back. Also of note is that although a hot tub is listed (in two places) there is actually no hot tub.
Petit chanterelle has been a dream stay. We booked it for 4 weeks to enjoy living a real french life and we couldn't have found a better place
The pictures dont do it justice . it is a stunning house set in the hills with a view to die for
The pool was perfect size and temp for us all
Helen could not have done more for us during the stay. Regular updates and contact made us feel safe . Forcalquier is a beautiful traditional town with all needed including great care and restaurants. We also would recommend bastide st george hitel for great food and service. thank you forcalquier and helen its been a blast

Lovely home & beautiful environment!
I spent a week at the house and thoroughly enjoyed the views, the silence, the pool, the town....... Everything!
Also if you enjoy adventure the house has easy access to the lac st croix, lac esparon, the beach and a via ferrata in Gap - la grande fistoire.
All in all a great place and a really nice town. Forcalquier is lovely; plenty of restaurants and bars, a great Monday market, lovely historical sites and a vibrant art scene.
I would definitely return!
Alles in allem perfekt
We had 2 wonderfull weeks in Helen's house. The town Forcalquier is an authentic provence town, giving you the experince of the real Provence before tourisme made it's entrance. The monday market is not to be missed. La petite Chanterelle is a very well equipped house in wonderful surroundings, ensuring peace and quit, great views and cool indoors when the heat gets to much in the provencal summer. We all enjoyed the pool, cooling us down several times during the day. The communication with Helen was quick and detailed and Helen provided answers to all our Q's. We can highly recommend this house if you want a great base for exploring Forcalquier and Luberon and a wonderful place for peace and quit. We would love to come back.
The reality of the setting was more impressive than the sum of the photos; breathtaking views across the valley, and a wonderful breeze blowing up the hillside every afternoon to cool you off when sitting on the patio. As promised, a very easy walk into town for dinners and shopping, and a spectacular Monday market! Lots of options for exploring and day trips around the region, and even with 3 weeks there we couldn't fit it all in. Helen was very responsive in answering a few questions; the house is well-equipped and we found nothing lacking.
We stayed at La Perite Chanterelle for one week in July/August and had the most relaxing and peaceful holiday that we could have wished for. There are beautiful views from the house and while set in a quite countryside location it is only a 15 minute walk to the town of Forcalquier. The house is incredibly well equipped and had all we needed. The table tennis was enjoyed by my teen aged sons and the pool was fantastic, a good size and perfect temperature.
The town had a good selection of restaurants and bars. the Monday market was huge and fun to walk around and there are many little shops to enjoy.
We would definitely consider coming to this property again, it was truely beautiful.
Ein wunderbar gelegenes und liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus mit einem Traumblick auf die hügelige Landschaft des pays de Forcalquier - wir wollten gar nicht weg und kommen, wenn es irgendwie geht, wieder! Danke Helen!
If you love a view , nature, comfort, privacy and a superb hilltop town close by this place is it.
Everything was spot on. The house had everything our family of 5 needed. But what made it stand out was it’s location. In a wild landscape of trees with an incredible view and wild life but within walking distance to a vibrant town and superb cycling through very productive farmland. It really ticked all the boxes for us including table tennis and a bbq area.

A stunning property set in a breathtaking location
The property was exactly as described by its owners and surpassed our expectations. Its scale was particularly generous allowing for family time and periods of solitary and quiet contemplation! Pool time was fabulous with water temperatures remaining comfortable throughout our stay (even for my feeble husband who usually takes 20 minutes to get into an unheated pool!) We particularly enjoyed the boule and barbecue areas in the evenings and being woken by birdsong each morning. An amazingly restorative week for us all and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to others and returning ourselves.

Beautiful private hideaway
On arrival it was clear that our already high expectations were exceeded by this beautiful property. It is set on a hillside with a stunning view of the Luberon. It is quiet and private and a perfect place to unwind.
There were only 3 of us in our party so we could all spread out when we wanted to have some quiet time or come together to eat and socialise either inside or out. The house itself is simply but beautifully decorated and well appointed for a relaxed stay.
The pool was beautiful, a good size and a welcome place to cool down in the heat of the day. The deck at the poolside also had beautiful views and acted as a sun trap during the day.
Forcalquier is a beautiful little town with a huge market on Monday. There are various places to eat and plenty of history for those interested in it. In truth we could easily have stayed at the house all week!!

A quality villa with great views
There were two of us and we spent three weeks in La Petit Chanterelle in June this year (2016), The villa is of high quality well kitted out and well maintained and is conveniently close to Forcalquier with it’s Monday market, shops, restaurants, and supermarkets.
At the villa great views over the Luberon from the terraces or the deck at the pool and plenty of interest whether it be hot air balloons in the early morning or twenty plus raptors circling over tractors in the hayfield below.
We have arranged to return next June

Fabulous house with a view to die for!
The house is everything you'd hope for, clean and well maintained with morning and evening terraces looking over the hills and land beyond The property is within easy walking distance to Forcalquier with it's huge market, traditional shops and restaurants. This the second time we have been and hope very much to return next summer. Thank you again Helen and Philippe for your help in making our stay so memorable. Henry and Kate Houghton

Absolutey Great
This was our second visit and we may well come back. A lovely house in a superb position - how many houses offer you an unbroken view of the Luberon over an evening pastis. Terrific pool - big enough to swim in not just flap about. Both house and pool are completely private. The house was immaculate on arrival and cleaned and bed changed mid holiday. Both that and pool cleaning done discreetly and with no problems Forcalquier is a walk ( 20 mins max) away along a very quiet road with great restaurants, bars around the square and a huge Monday Market as well as excellent butchers and bakers Excellent walks around but beware it does get very hot. If you want to walk or ride the bike(fantastic) September - our previous visit - might be better. We would recommend the house to anybody who wants real peace and quite, privacy and a bit of Provence which still has more in common with Elizabeth David than Peter Mayle

Comfortable and well equipped house
As described in the listing. Clean and well maintained. Wonderful view over the valley. Owners very easy to deal with. Pool big enough for decent lengths swimming also with wonderful view over valley. Very secluded, property can't be seen from the road. Forcalquier an easy walk and a very pleasant town with lots of eating places.
