"I really wanted to post a negative review of this cabin because I want it to remain a secret and available down the road, but I won't do that. It was lovely. Evenings and nights sitting on the covered porch watching for fireflies and listening to the bullfrogs was an amazing experience. It was extremely peaceful and it had a hot tub. We will definitely be back in the near future. "

"Whole place is dated. Room was old, and "patched up" in several places. They didn't replace towels or clean the room the whole week. We asked for housekeeping service and they came and only made the bed, and gave us a few towels. They didn't clean the bathroom, or even empty the garbage cans. The breakfast bar had no proteins, only cereals and breads. The hot tub did not get hot, and most evenings the pool and hot tub were closed well before the posted closing time. We were in town to visit our grandchildren, and were hoping to bring them back to the hotel pool. The hotel charges $30 per non registered guest for 2 hours of pool use, which is ridiculous, especially when the place was empty. The owner is quite obviously trying to save money instead of spending money to make it better to get more people to actually want to stay there. I would not stay there again. There are much better places in Shelby."

"You couldn't ask for a cozier place to stay. The cabin is equipped with everything you could possibly need. We were there with 4 adults and 1 teen for a music festival in Lake Lure. It was the perfect size. The teen especially loved the downstairs area which was his spot. :) The setting is stunning. It is so quiet and at night, so dark you can see the stars and appreciate the silence. The cabin is exactly as listed and the host couldn't be more helpful, friendly and responsive. Thanks for a great weekend. I wish we couldn't stayed longer."

"The double room was OK. It is a refurbished motel and there is no place to sit outside of the room. The pool area wasn't opened (end of April) so we asked to use the breakfast room in the evening."

"The bathroom was not clean. There was only one cup in the room for use and it was open. The second bed had not been changed; it had something on the sheets that looked like dried up snot on it. Makes you wonder where else the staff is coming up short. Breakfast was only half out and the equipment was not working. I’ll give them credit that it was almost time for breakfast to be over. I just expected to be able to have all the choices until the stopping time not before. "

"We stayed for three nights and it was a wonderful experience. House is very roomy, beautiful and wonderful location. Bob, the host, was excellent and very accommodating. Definitely want to return. Excellent experience "
