What a great place to stay! The house was really big, clean, well-stocked, and the owners even set up a Christmas tree! My sister and I, and her daughters and their husbands stayed two nights. You can tell this was a custom built home. We really enjoyed the property.
The residence and surrounding property were amazing. We had everything we needed onsite and in the surrounding neighborhood. Close access to amenities like food, shopping, and hiking trails. I'd stay here again if revisiting the area.
I’ve stayed here a few times now and thoroughly enjoy it. The house is large and clean. It’s older, but clearly well maintained and has all the amenities you’d ever need. I love the country setting and convenience to town.
Our experience at this property was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The house was impeccably clean and had every amenity we could have asked for. The kitchen was fully stocked, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the outdoor space was a dream. We truly felt at home here and can’t recommend this property highly enough. It was the perfect getaway, and we can’t wait to return!
The property is very close to the interstate and easy to get to, while at the same time it is very secluded and peaceful. Very clean and spacious house. It is an older house, but well maintained and clean which is most important to me.
We had a wonderful time! It was me and a few 14 year old boys visiting their best friend that moved to the area. On New Years eve we were treated to a whole elaborate fireworks display from the back porch from the golf course below. The home was close to everywhere we went. It was clean and comfy. Very homey. If we went out there again I would definitely stay there again. Thank you Ed!
The house was really clean and very nice. It was mentioned in the description that there was a hill to follow up to the house. There was no mention that if you don't have an SUV you won't get up the hill. The driveway was very steep and full of ruts and bumps. I was going to take my grandkids hiking on the trails that were advertised but they look like they had not been mowed this year. My son-in-law took his son on one of them and came back full of chiggers and ticks. They sprayed their legs with OFF before they went. Overall it was a good stay.
This property provides comfort and space! The views are very pretty, however you should know the driveway to the property is steep and large chunks of loose gravel. The backroads to get to this house are very windy and curvy and have no shoulder. It is worth the effort to get here though as the property owners/managers are kind and ready to ensure you have a wonderful stay. They even messaged us about changing weather and frost while we were there to ensure we were safe on the roads. They left a complimentary bottle of champagne in the fridge which was a lovely touch as we were in town celebrating a wedding. We had our young children with us and they enjoyed the uno game and crayons and coloring books from the hall closet. Absolutely a gem of a house. Would love to return and enjoy another getaway in this very same space.
Good stay. House needs to be updated some, especially the blinds. Some were missing completely. I would suggest turning the sofa parallel to the tv so more people can see it.

We thought it would be more wheelchair friendly … there was no 1st floor bedroom so our wheelchair bound guest and her husband could not stay overnight .. ultimately it did serve our purpose … we weren’t looking for too much just wanted a place to hold a planning meeting … it was a little outdated concerning appliances and plumbing facilities though
Place was so roomy for our group of 6 adults attending a local softball tournament. Clean and well stocked. Dining table was nice and roomy. Plenty of linens for all. So nice to have two king-sized beds. Was difficult to find the pond...only suggestion is maybe a sign showing where it is. Owner communicated in a timely manner. Would highly recommend this place. Also - if you're needing suggestions for touring - go to St. Charles. The historic district was great!
We were extremely happy with our stay at this property. It was a beautiful place and was very well maintained with a lot of amenities. It had plenty of space and beds were super comfortable. We would definitely stay here again given the opportunity!
I stayed at the house this week while working just a few miles away and enjoyed the stay. Lots of room and amenities, and in a beautiful spot. The house is used as part of a wedding venue and has extra amenities because of that. There is a steep hill coming into the property, but I had no issues with it. Everything is older but in great condition and well kept. The property was impeccably clean.
Place was very clean and met our needs for the weekend.
The A/C was not very effective in the main living area and upper bedrooms. It broke while we stayed there and host was very responsive in getting it repaired although that didn’t solve the lack of air flow to upper bedrooms. Box fans were provided to help with that. Although very clean, the appliances and cutlery (particularly knives that actually cut) need updating. All appliances worked but are very dated.
Used this place to live while on a 10 week work assignment. It's comfortable, with all the bedding, towels, soaps, and kitchen items you would need for an extended stay.
The bad: the kitchen is dated, but functional. The drive is steep, so in icy winter conditions can be tricky.
The good: the home is roomy, and comfortable. Can easily handle a family, or 6 adults. The bathrooms are equipped with towels, soaps, shampoos, & blow dryers. The owner is very conscientious about keeping in touch. We stayed Dec-mid Feb. Snowy/icy weather was predicted, and the owner communicated he would stay on top of making the drive accessible. Thankfully the weather didn't get that bad, so we had no issues getting up or down the driveway.
While the setting seems like a long way from town, we easily made our drive to GM plant or Wentzville shopping in 20 minutes, without getting into heavy traffic.
The view from the home is great. And if you appreciate watching animals, you won't be disappointed. We saw numerous deer and squirrels.
Will definitely keep this place in mind if we have future assignments here.
This property was absolutely perfect for our family vacation over the holidays. Close enough to shopping / groceries / things to do, far enough away for some privacy and a sense of seclusion.
Our first impression pulling onto the property was how beautiful the area was and how we wished we had a place like this of our own. Big trees, spacious open areas, and at the top of a tall hill overlooking the surrounding areas. One note on that...the steep driveway, while not an issue for us, may pose a problem in inclement / icy weather if a stay coincides with the weather. Otherwise, it shouldn't be an issue for anyone.
The home itself is very roomy and comfortable. While most appliances are older, everything works well and we were able to easily cook meals, wash clothes, and had never felt constrained.
In some older reviews, there were notes about the windows in the bedrooms not having blinds, but as mentioned, that has been corrected. The beds themselves were very comfortable and we were easily able to block out sunlight allowing us to sleep in.
One of the highlights of this property for us in the listing was the outdoor space. The home has 2 decks (which we barely used due to the cold weather), open areas around the house which we used for outdoor games, a fire pit which my Boy Scout son took advantage of for a Christmas night fire, and an outdoor grill which we did not try out.
We were also very impressed that the hosts had left holiday dishes for our stay and had even set up a nice Christmas tree in the living room which allowed us to have our gifts under the tree while on vacation. This was something that I had been concerned about since I wanted it to feel as much like Christmas as possible with the kids while on vacation, so we were very thrilled to discover the small added touches when we arrived.
Finally, the only "issue" that we did have and I only leave it here so that other families are able to plan, was the hot water for showers. Our first night, we ran out of hot water with 4 of us taking showers in close succession and I was left with a very cold shower. Lesson learned though and we spaced them out going forward with no issues.
If I ever visit the St. Louis area in the future, I would have absolutely no reservations about staying at this property! It was fantastic and the hosts were always quick to respond to my messages (within minutes) anytime I reached out.
