"The staff are second to none, all were very friendly and helpful. the room with a sea view was perfect. breakfast was always of a high slandered. However the only aspect that let them down, was the rooms were not free of mosquitos, they should spray the room once the daily cleaning is completed."

"All that a really good african experience should be. Lovely ambience from stunning beach views with palm lined sands and plenty of grass covered canapied umbrellas. The pool was crystal clean everyday and the food in the beach restaurant was amazing quality at really good prices. The breakfast was of high standard with plenty of choice everyday. There was different entertainment every night from african dancers and authentic drum players,to bands playing regiee music. The staff warmth and customer service was the best I have encountered in the 15 years I have been visiting the Gambia. Altogether a fantastic holiday experience "

"Majula has an outstanding view of the sea. Every room has a sea view. it is a truly boutique hotel. Most suitable for business trips or families who seek tranquility, comfort and easy access to the beach. I would certainly go back there again."

"Unique: proximity and view of the Ocean. The landscape. The pictures are true Good WiFi , back up generator really handy as we had frequent power outages (NAWEC still haven’t got their sh*t together. Business suffering as a result.) Staff is amazing. Quick check in process, actually had us in our rooms before checking time as we arrived early from a long tiresome flight. The rooms are spacious but not sure what happened with the doors, wall paint - poor workmanship I guess. Definitely not meeting the standards of a hotel of this class and price. Great stay overall"

"Great place close to the river to fully disconnect from the light, dust and noise pollution. Especially at night, it’s so quiet, you get to hear birds, see stars in the sky, man, I got one of my deepest /best sleeps. This location is also couple degrees cooler at night that in town which I really like. The staff are very responsive and respectful. I would definitely opt for the food service, it’s so good. The owner Mike is always very responsive and helpful. Overall great place for anyone looking for a quiet place to enjoy their vacation or work trip. Great for bird watchers too due to its proximity to the river Gambia. "

"As mentioned, I double booked a second rez for a friend to test what was being offered on Expedia - meaning that my 2nd rez I effectively had 2 rooms reserved for the same day; however 3 rooms still shoed being available with private shower. The staff assured me that this time I would get the room with private bath. ONE staff allowed the transfer with the new rez but a few hours later another staff asked for additional money for this room with the manager behind the scene on the phone. I DECLINED and returned to my showerless -toiletless communial bath room. Luckily, I was the only one bookef for this so I just walked across the hall. All in all, I have stayed in Berlin with a luxurious private shower only room but it was clearly stated in the booking. The toilet was in our private entrance and shared privstely by omly 2 rooms. For those without extensive world travel experience booking a room that states it has a shower means you get a bathroom! So showing up to find this not to be the case would be a disaster. I tested tgs system bit afterall it was a stay-cation during a critical construction phase.Give ppl the option to chose and stop the bait-n-switch upgrade game.Someone might choose the option like I did in Berlin - afterall I was next to Das Kaufhause (DKH).t I GIVE THIS low rating because making ppl feel housing insecure is lowbrow."
