"The hotel is an old building (probably early 1900's?) that has been re-tooled to work with today's more modern needs. Having said that, I don't think it hit its intended goal. Expedia notes this as a 3.5 stars - I believe that represents the hotel amenity level. In reality, it is a 2 star hotel at best. The rooms are spare, lighting is dim, bathrooms are tiny, towels are threadbare and not enough of them. The bed was comfortable, but there was not really a bedside table that worked (it was a small table, about 12"x12", no shelf). There was an outlet nearby the bed for charging. One of the two chairs in the seating area looked like it needed repair, the staff was friendly, but not overly helpful, with no phones in the rooms and spotty wi-fi at best. The TV didn't connect well to any of the entertainment apps provided. Lastly, we stayed for 3 nights and end of day 2, I had to ask about housekeeping services, as our room hadn't been attended to. The front desk staff apologized that they "missed" servicing our room and the the cleaning staff had left for the day. He brought up some clean towels. Overall, I was so underwhelmed by the hotel that I considered moving to another one."

"The staff was helpful and the room clean, the water in the shower hot with good water pressure, the towels were plentiful and and the maid service efficient, its just a tired building with worn fixtures outside the immediate entrance area. But for a visit to Provendence it is located in a very good area of town."

"My stay ended on March 2nd, it took until April 24th to have the security deposit refunded to me because they couldn't figure out how to process it. Not particularly professional. The stay itself was not bad, and the place is quite nice, I love the historical aspects of the property, but it could use some fixes/updates. I was in an upstairs bedroom, on both my bedroom door and the bathroom door there was a gap between the door and the door frame, so other guests walking by could see into the room. That made me uncomfortable as a solo female traveler, and should be fixed. It is very nice that they have free parking in downtown Providence (unlike most hotels in this area) but it had snowed a couple days before and the parking lot was plowed in a way that there wasn't enough parking spots."

"The hotel itself is a very nice property, lobby and rooms are quite attractive, spacious and well-equipped. Amenities and service, not so much -- couldn't get a room assigned at 2:30, sent to a room that had not been cleaned, no coffee in the lobby before 6:00, none of which were extreme but cumulatively giving a sense that this hotel is not as nice as it could be and should be. It started as a high-end downtown option and has slowly but surely become a good but by no means exceptional hotel. Location is very nice, downtown Providence and within a few blocks of many restaurants and other amenities."

"My husband and I, along with our adult children, stayed here while celebrating my daughter’s graduation from JWU. The location was perfect for us. It is in a quiet neighborhood, but close to the freeway and everything we wanted to get to. The parking spots in the driveway were wonderful to have. The home was clean and very well equipped. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, plenty of towels and soaps in the bathrooms, and plenty of bathrooms! Everything looked newly refurbished and felt warm and welcoming. Check in and out directions were well written and easy to follow. We had no concerns whatsoever with our stay & would gladly stay here again!"

"Adorable nicely renovated house in a nice neighborhood. Comfortable beds. The kitchen is well equipped and comes with a kettle, a French press and keurig. The living room furniture is minimal and could use a full length couch. Also for those who might have difficulty navigating stairs the stairs to 2nd floor bedrooms are steep and narrow and the bathroom is on the first floor. The parking for two cars is in a dirt lot a house away. There had just been a significant snow storm a few days before our stay and the lot was not fully plowed and was very muddy. Would be fine if dry. Street parking would normally be available but parking was blocked by big snowbanks. Also there is a small outdoor patio that would be lovely in good weather. Overall I recommend but better in spring, summer or fall. "
