This Main Street cottage is conveniently located and private—making it the perfect getaway! Found behind a large limestone house on Main Street and surrounded by a privacy fence, this little house is protected from Main Street traffic yet easily located to shops and restaurants. The décor is French Country with a little eclectic thrown in and is truly a divine and special place to call home.

A cozy porch offers four restful chairs for visiting, reading or having a glass of wine. Inside is a living room with leather sofa and two elegant yet comfy chairs for enjoying the big screen television. The fully equipped kitchen has a harvest table seating six. A bright, open kitchen has a large refrigerator, electric stovetop/oven, microwave, coffeemaker and dishwasher.

There are three bedrooms and two baths in this exceptional home. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds and both are topped with luxury linens and comforters. The two queen bedrooms share a bath in the hallway with tub/shower and two vanity sinks. The third bedroom has a double/full size bed, but has it's own bath with a large glass shower. The beds, art and décor are stunning and will make your stay most enjoyable.

Great little cottage to spend a girls weekend getaway In Fredericksburg!! Perfect for our group of 5. Parking is limited and other tenants parked in front of our cottage blocking view and stairs accessibility (only complaint!)We would definitely stay here again.

We took a quick trip after Thanksgiving to Fredricksburg and The Oaks on Main was the perfect location. We were able to take some wine tours during the day and walk all along Main in the afternoon/evenings. The location was perfect. The home was clean, stocked with the few things we needed in the kitchen and the beds were comfy. We can definitely see ourselves rebooking for future visits.

We had a wonderful time at “The Oaks on Main”! Stayed the week of Thanksgiving and couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodations. My girlfriends and I enjoyed a 4-day trip in Fredericksburg and couldn't have had a better place to stay. The Oaks on Main is a lovely spacious home with everything you need to be comfortable. It's an easy walk to shops and restaurants and a wonderful place to relax after a day of shopping and sightseeing. It's spacious, clean, and well appointed. If I had another trip to Fredericksburg, I'd definitely stay there again.

We had a family "girls" weekend to celebrate my niece who is heading back to school, to get her Masters. The place worked perfect for all 5 of us. It was very clean and felt like Home. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room for all of us. It is very close to town, safe and we were able to walk into town, with no problems. We would definately go back to this home and stay again.

The Oaks on Main is tucked behind a stately historic stone home. The gardens between the two are beautiful to see. The home needs more storage opportunities in the third bedroom - there was no place to store our clothes and so forth. The gate was a bit tricky and closed on vehicles attempting to leave (and waiting for passing cars)...perhaps a longer open period would be sufficient. We enjoyed the stay.

This cottage was absolutely perfect. It was clean, cute, comfortable and convenient to everything. We felt safe behind the gated entrance and especially loved that we were able to sit on the porch and enjoy the Texas breeze during the mornings and evenings. The home was nicely decorated and had every necessary amenity. We noticed that the owner and the rental company also provided additional little touches to make our stay extra enjoyable. Only issue we had was there was only one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. That did not last with several ladies. However, there was nose tissue for us to use our last day. Everything else about the location as well as the rental company was fabulous!!

Our accommodations were fantastic! So beautifully decorated, clean and spacious. The location in town was perfect; enjoyed early morning walks to coffee shops. Gastehaus Schmidt was wonderful to work with; walked me through the whole process. I absolutely recommend this hospitality venue when visiting Fredericksburg, TX. The television volume would jump from soft to loud. Had to keep my finger on the volume key any time we watched television. Turing around inside was tight; did not feel comfortable backing out onto Elk Street.

We absolutely LOVED this house! My three daughters and I have been spending a Christmas weekend in Fredericksburg for the last 30 years. Now my grandaughters are old enough to join us. In this busy world, we never have time to stop and visit, but this weekend is always just ours, and we look forward to it every year. Even though we have always tried to stay at a different place every year, we all agreed that the Oaks on Main is our favorite of all the houses we have stayed in. We look forward to staying there again next year. Beautifully furnished with a comfortable "home" feeling. Great amenities. The Keurig coffee was an especially nice touch and,to me, showed how much the owners cared about the comfort of their guests. Loved the Christmas decorations!

We had a great girls trip and stayed at this cute little house. Couple things we wish were a little different to make our stay that more enjoyable. We wish there were King size beds in the all the rooms. The master could really have a King bed since the room is so large. Also, wish the smallest bed, a Full size, was at least a Queen bed and wasn't in the room with the largest bathroom. Made sharing bathrooms interesting during our stay. Also, having your resident with the full size truck park in another area so we could access the house a little easier and use the front staircase.

A terrific friend from high school & I met in Fredericksburg to reminisce about old memories & to make new ones. Although it was just the two of us, the home could easily accommodate 1 or 2 more without feeling cramped for space. The cottage was spacious, clean, nicely decorated, and equipped with everything needed to prepare a meal (but who would want to cook when there are quite a few restaurants in easy walking distance). Two things to note: (1) The location is several blocks from most of the Main Street attractions. That was no problem for my friend who is a walker, but was more difficult for me with a bad knee. (2) The two parking spots allocated to the cottage are conveniently close and the property gate provides extra security. However, it is a very tight space for turning the car around to drive out of the gate. The only other option is to back out onto a rather busy street. I have two suggestions for the owner: (1) Provide access to the gate code through a phone app, like the front door so getting out & in the car is not required. (2) Install a safety bar in the shower. None of the comments & suggestions would prevent me from renting it again on another visit to Fredericksburg. I still believe it is a 5-star property and highly recommend it.
