Nice area and the property had everything you need to ejoy a vacation.
Beautiful area and scenery. The home is a little dated and some areas could be cleaner but it has a wonderful dock, plenty of room for a family and all the amenities to make your stay enjoyable. We enjoyed our time there together.
The place was nice and the view was so beautiful, sun rise was magical

Amazing view
The view/location is amazing, we had a great time, it was great having kayaks and stand up paddle boards to use. Unfortunately the dishwasher was filled with dirty dishes when we arrived, but other than that all else was fine.

Home away from home
I have stayed in many homes on Hatteras Island. This is the first one that felt homey and comfortable. The living room area was a great cozy gathering area. The kitchen was functional. I was able to actually cook all the meals. The grill outside was perfect! The views are wonderful. It is a perfect little piece of the island. I can’t wait to stay here again.
The layout of the house is cozy with an open floor plan. It was perfect for us. The house might have been one of the cleanest houses we have stayed at in the OBX. The house was well maintained. The dock was very nice as well. The seating was comfortable. We also enjoyed the open views on the water side.

Nice location. Only one shower besides the one outside. Needs updated and kitchen refresh.
Nice stay. A few upgrades would make this property amazing.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The location on the water was very nice. The deck, dock and kayaks were a huge highlight.
The house is dated. We had seen this in photos and mostly knew what we were getting into. What you don’t see in photos is that there’s no ice maker (only ice trays), the recliners in the living space need to be replaced, outlets are loose and in many spots walls or ceilings are peeling or show damage.
We really did love our stay, but a few upgrades at this house are needed to give folks an exceptional experience.

Nice house, but needs a little attention
We loved the location on the water, and the views from almost anywhere in the house. My grandkids enjoyed the games.
The issues we had were nothing horrible. Just some tweaks. When you drive up you assume you should go upstairs to the front door that you can see, however that door doesn't have the electronic lock so you have to go back down and up another staircase. Not major, but annoying. The kayaks and paddleboards would have been great, but there were no child size life vest so we couldn't use them. Two out of three burners on the grill don't light automatically. Fortunately we had matches and got it lit, however the temperature is impossible to control. On the lowest setting it jumped from 250 degrees to 550 degrees in less than two minutes. We had hockey pucks instead of hamburgers. Thr refrigerator froze everything on the top shelf even though it was set as recommended. The freezer had a thermometer in it that ranged from negative 10 to positive 40 with ice melting and dripping.
These are all minor things, but they make the stay a little aggravating.
Overall we liked the house alot and would love it if these things were addressed.

Lovely Limey Lookout
If you are in love with quiet surroundings, a beautiful view, and all you need for a comfortable stay for a more than reasonable price, this is your place! If you are looking for a modern, fancy, luxury stay, this is not for you. That being said, our family had such an amazing time bonding over fishing, crabbing, kayaking, and paddleboarding (although the items are old, they are functional). We had wonderful dinners at the large dining table as well as at the kitchen counter together. Cooking was easy as they have just about everything you need to prepare a meal. There is a local market 10 minutes away as well as a Food Lion if you have a large family that needs more choices. Cafe Pamilico is close and has excellent atmosphere, sandwiches and salads. Tavern on12 is close as well and offered decent food for dinner. A few quaint coffee and pastry shops are nearby. There are a lot of steps on this property, so please consider this if you have an older person with you. The house easily sleeps 7 people. The air conditioning works quite well, we were very comfortable sleeping at night. Other than the furniture and decor being outdated, this house was lovely!
We kayaked and paddle boarded quite easily up and down the water alleys of the neighborhood. We walked across the street to the west side to take amazing pictures of the sunset. Off-roading on the beach, Laying in a kayak on the sound, Coffee on the deck and the morning air, and sounds of fish jumping and birds singing were reinvigorating and just what this working mom needed! I would recommend this place to a friend or family. For those who want to do more nightlife or jetskiing etc.. I recommend further north for the OBX. But for those who wish for some quiet R&R as well as easy access to the Ferry to Okracoke or fishing trips, this is it and this home was the perfect stay for us.

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness, communication
Mixed Experience: Beautiful Location, but cleanliness and Pest Problems
- Character limit really makes it difficult to write a proper thorough review. In sum:
- + Beautiful home, nice views, sunrise/sunset, close to Connors (an awesome fully stocked grocery store) and Ocracoke ferry. Several great restaurants in driving distance as well.
- Place was filthy, and even though we let them know guests had severe pet allergies (and this is advertised as a pet-free property) pet hair was on all upholstered furniture. We had to clean the whole home ourselves at 8pm after a 7 hour drive with two young kids. Vacasa did eventually refund the cleaning fee.
- Roaches. As soon as the sun went down the porch came to life, with tons and tons of roaches. We only found one inside (kitchen counter near the microwave), but there is likely an infestation that will eventually spill over into the house. Palmetto bugs (which is a euphemism for cockroach) are present in the OBX, but we come here annually to different rental properties and have rarely seen them. This house didn’t just have a few bugs. The porch unusable after dark unless you enjoy roaches crawling on you.
- Vacasa takes a long time to respond to queries posted through chat. The responses are canned and robotic. It took us a few tries to get a real answer each time, or we had to call in.
- The road in the neighborhood floods after even a small amount of rain, especially at the bottom of the driveway. Depending on the vehicle this may be a challenge.

Beautiful Breezy Views
Our family of 6 absolutely loved this house. It has an older OBX feel to it, but it was very clean and comfortable. Our teens loved that the house came equipped with paddle boards and kayaks. The views of the water paired with non stop breezes was top tier. We would absolutely visit again!
House could use a little updating and the condensation drips from the vent in the master bathroom. Otherwise it was very clean and the perfect place. Having the use of kayaks and SUP’s were a great bonus! I would stay here again
House was nice size. The dock was awesome we spent tons of time out there. Neighborhood was quiet, great for walks in the evening to see the sunset.

Great spring break choice!
This home was awesome! The location could not be better. Beautiful views, the dock was amazing! The house is dated, we thought it gave it a ton of personality! Plenty of room, and it has all the amenities… even some that are not listed. We will be back!
