Can’t say enough good things about Hoshinoya Fuji. The staff were so friendly and attentive, and the property is perfection. One of those rare situations where the promo photos
Amazing property built into the hillside. Rooms have phenomenal views of Mt Fuji. The staff is excellent, providing great service. Delicious food, too!
Amazing location and service. Limited options on food but it was all delicious. The room was very comfortable, clean, and had a great view of Mt Fuji. I would highly recommend this place if you want to spend time in nature and luxury.
Magical hotel with views of Fuji (if you are lucky).
Shabu shabu hotpot in room was really special for us

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Room was very nice, spacious, very clean, beautiful view of the Fuji Mountain. The staff are very kind and extremely attentive. The room was well lit and very easy to control the lights from either side of the beds. Loved the heated floors, the heated blanket table located on the patio. Amenities included with the room are tea, coffee, water, a 5 step facial cleansing routine in the form of dispensable bottles rather than single use bottle. As for the food breakfast (in room) was good, nothing amazing but still good. Dinner (at the restaurant), I felt very sick after eating it, not sure it was worth my money. Resulted in many trips to the bathroom afterward. Overall you pay for the view and great hospitality, (dinner) food is probably not worth your money, there are other options close to town in Oishi but all require some kind of vehicle to get to.
The best thing is the spectacular view of Mount Fuji from the room balcony complete with a small fireplace. Staff Service is excellent. Glamping activities provided some complementary some with fees. There is no breakfast included for my stay. But the breakfasts and dinners we had were very good. Can be pricey but safe the hassle of looking for food. To really enjoy the stay I would suggest signing up for some of the activities provided. Property is tucked away on the hill. If you plan to move around. Rent a car. But the property is already a great place to chill away from the crowds.
Pros:
Amazing view from the cabin.
Service is excellent throughout from check in to check out. Attention to details is great; they remember our room number and daily reservation.
Cabin size is on the small side but understandable due to the “glamping” experience it tries to emulate.
Speaking of experience, the sweet treats and bonfire night are great. We wished we could have joined more activities.
Cons:
Food options are a bit limited. For breakfast, you only have two options. So if you’re staying for longer than two days, you would have to repeat your choices. À la cart dinner has more options. Having said that, however, the food here is great too.

The property is amazing. So beautiful, peaceful and serene. Aside from the that, the staff could not have been nicer and more accommodating. What a great stay.
Very artistic place. Truly excellent staff. The nature of the hotel supported our hiking trip. Also, the views from the property are stunning and unique. Additionally, we loved the food.
Whole experience was amazing. Property was in a beautiful setting overlooking Fujisan and lake Kawaguchiko. Service provided by staff was beyond my expectations, care and attention to detail in everything from the check-in experience to organising our meals and activities was excellent.
Rooms were lovely and the views were incredible. The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. We enjoyed the dining and activities on site immensely. A word of caution: the resort is a fair distance away from Kawaguchiko and it was difficult for us to find taxis consistently. So if you plan on staying primarily at the resort it’s not a problem but if you’re a “get out and about” type of traveler be prepared.
Really amazing and restful stay. We stayed for three nights and felt very refreshed after the stay, having experienced the delicious food offered and enjoyable activities (we did the early morning canoeing, aerial stretching and rented a bike to cycle around the lake).
This hotel is not for people squirmish about bugs or those looking for extreme lux. This hotel is for people seeking lush greenery, great views, and taking time to detach and relax.
This place offers a very unique experience with spectacular views of Mount Fuji, which are even better than what the website shows. The staff is very friendly and polite, and the food exquisite. I would go back anytime.
This property was fantastic. With inspirational views of Mt. Fuji from every room, to the peaceful surrounding forest, it was exactly what we were looking for, especially after the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. The food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. The shabu shabu hot pot dinner on our porch with the view of Mt. Fuji was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had.
