"Great location and newly renovated property. Looks just like photos. Excellent communication throughout thank you. A few things that could have been improved - no tea towels provided/ or cleaning product to wipe sides down in the kitchen- no chopping board had to use a plate - no hooks either in bathroom, bedroom or living room. No where to hang towels to dry or coats -the bathroom has a drain smell that was not nice. Also in the bathroom the shower does not seem to have sealant on the outside...

"Santa Maria Maior was just as described and in a perfect location. We were minutes from the cable car and many wonderful restaurants and bars. Patricia greeted us and explained everything about the apartment and some tips regarding the area. She was delightful. Olivier checked to ensure everything went smoothly and wished us a farewell. As Americans living in Portugal I would recommend this apartment."

"After spending the first half of the week on the norhtern side of the island, we spent a long weekend in Funchal for a wedding. The location was great! "We had a great stay here from December 15 to January 9. The apartment was spotless and very well maintained. We received fresh linens and bedsheets every Monday, which was a really nice touch. Communication with the host was super easy and smooth throughout our stay. The location is excellent, close to everything, though if you’re walking, be prepared for a steep hill from the main road — consider it a built-in workout! Overall, a wonderful stay and we’d definitely recommend it."

"This hotel was a great location for us with walkable access to downtown Funchal (about 30 minute walk). Good restaurants nearby and downtown. Hotel is up on a hill (about 70 meters of considerable incline), so that was unexpected, but for us did not create an issue. Parking is limited at this property and we were not aware originally that you could reserve the parking ahead of time and for an additional fee (7 euro per day). The staff were very helpful however and offered off site parking to us nearby for the same fee. Again, not a problem for us, but may be an issue for some (150 meters away from the hotel). Rooms were standard (we did not have a balcony), but this is not a very new property, so there is no air conditioning in the rooms. Good breakfast with good options and fresh bread and buns everyday. The property also offers dinner options on site, but we chose to eat outside of the hotel. This was a good stay and we were thankful that when our flight got delayed we were able to stay at the hotel and our room for an additional night. The staff was helpful and even provided us with a kettle for our room (we did not bring our own as we came from Canada)."
