We stayed at Quinta Santa Maria Maior for a week in late April and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The property itself is stunning — beautifully maintained gardens, incredible views over the Atlantic, and a private pool that became our daily ritual. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and full of thoughtful touches.The location was perfect for exploring the island: day trips to Cabo Girão, Porto Moniz, Levada walks, and Funchal’s old town were all within easy reach. Coming back to the quinta each evening felt like a reward in itself.The host was responsive, warm, and made sure everything was in order from the moment we arrived. We couldn’t have asked for a better base for experiencing Madeira. Whether you’re looking to relax by the pool or use it as a hub for adventure — this is it.We will be back.

Die Wohnung selbst ist ein absoluter Traum, aber das Highlight ist definitiv der Garten mit diesem atemberaubenden Blick über die Dächer von Funchal.Ein riesiges Dankeschön an Martim! Seine Gastfreundschaft ist außergewöhnlich. Selbst als das Wetter mal nicht mitspielte, hatte er sofort die perfekten Tipps für die Inselerkundung parat, sodass wir jeden Tag voll auskosten konnten. Wir haben uns ab der ersten Sekunde willkommen gefühlt und kommen definitiv wieder. Absolut empfehlenswert!
