The Address Wren

"Hotel is the top floor of what looks like an Edwardian office building next to Glasgow Central rail station. Room was recently decorated and very clean. Comfortable bed. Compact but very clean en suite with new fittings. Instead of tea/coffee making facilities in the room these are available free of charge in the breakfast room “the Parlor”, a very good coffee machine. A nice touch."

"We had two rooms on different dates, both executive rooms on 11th floor, but quite different experiences. Room 1108 was quiet with a corner view of the River Clyde. Room 1101 was noisy both because of the view over Glasgow Central rail station and the constant departure of trains late at night, as well as the clattering pipes and scraping aircon fan and noisy neighbours in an adjacent room. In 1108 the privacy shutter on the door lens was missing, which unfortunately meant the hallway light was brightly focused on the bed (we stuffed it with tissue to maintain privacy). Breakfasts were good and the staff polite. The executive lounge was useful for free tea/coffee/snacks."

"Housekeeping and cleanliness throughout the hotel was of a very high standard. The staff were very helpful and polite providing relative information on our arrival. The bar was of a very high standard offering a great selection of drinks and cocktails all prepared expertly by their highly qualified barman Benjamin. He brought an energy to the bar amongst all the residents drinking there when we were. The atmosphere was happy and friendly. Breakfast was ok but selection of cooked foods was disappointing. Of the 6 items on offer there was no sausages, haggis or beans when we were there. So only bacon, hash browns and scrambled egg available. I did manage to acquire a fried egg but only by asking a waiter who relayed my request to the chef. Fresh fruit was nicely prepared and adequate selection. Plain yogurt was nice quality. Tea/coffee machine was decent quality and good selection of coffee and tea bags. So hotel and bar I’d give 9/10. I’d like to have a small fridge in the rooms to make this 10/10. Breakfast I’d give 5/10."

"We paid £189 for one night and personally feel disappointed . We had one tea bag . No tissues or little extras that are normally in the bathroom . The staff at reception were doing their job but not welcoming . We came back to experience the live entertainment and cannot believe a bottle of Prosecco was £44 and no rose Prosecco . On checkout we asked to leave our luggage and that was a real pain as three receptionists were dealing with one man. Have had better at a premier inn"

"Friendly staff. Room clean and adequate and quiet. Shower a little lacking in water pressure but lovely soft fluffy bath sheet towels. Plentiful tea and coffee in room. Didn't try the breakfast but good bar area. Loved the very central position, close to train and bus station links."
