illa - By the sea
10/10 Excellent
"Had a lovely stay at Illa by the Sea. Everything was great, from the wonderfully helpful staff and really comfortable rooms to the yummy breakfasts. Having the beach practically to yourself is another huge plus, especially if you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway. It’s also just a 20–30 minute autorickshaw ride from Udupi, making it easy enough to head into town and explore the area. If you’re visiting, the Delta Point, Shri Krishna Temple and the Hanging Bridge backwaters are all must-visits. There’s plenty to see around Udupi, and Illa by the Sea makes for a lovely base to explore the region while still enjoying some peace and quiet. The only minor downside is that there aren’t too many places to eat in the immediate vicinity, so you’ll probably find yourself either traveling 20+ minutes by rickshaw or relying on Zomato for dinner. One humble suggestion to make an already lovely stay even better would be to provide a small fridge and microwave in the rooms/common room, so guests can store and heat up food when they’d rather have a quiet dinner in. All in all, a wonderful place to unwind by the sea. Highly recommended!"

"We booked for three nights in this hotel and were very impressed with the cleanliness of the entire hotel, how well the room was maintained, and all the new fixtures inside. They were of high quality. Everything worked so well within the room. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. I recommend this hotel highly."

"This property is exceptional and when it comes to hospitality, this is exceptional. I have visited multiple 5 star hotels in the past but the staff’s hospitality here is at next level. You want anything anytime, you get it. They cleaned our car also without us asking. Food taste was also great. You go to swimming pool and someone comes with towels and offer you drinks. Cleaning of the room done multiple times as and when we go out, when we came back room all cleaned and organised. Property has private beach, which their staff keep it clean. We all had awesome experience and we all loved it. Postcard has become number 1 in my list when I think of service."
