Thought it was a great location.
It was not clean leaves and hair in the shower and it was dripping. The shower curtain has black mold.
No porch light on and only 1 chair.
No coffee, a pot to brew coffee but no coffee or filters.
Therefore not worth the price we paid.
Didn’t need anything fancy, just a place to sleep. Cabin is right next to the road, but once inside, it’s quiet. Great shower, nice and clean, bed was comfortable. Plenty of parking if you bring your boat. If you want a clean, well kept property, no frills cabin, this is a great place to stay. Property has multiple cabins, would be great if you had a large group and wanted your own space at the end of the day. I will definitely return for another stay.

Clean but problem with Beds and Security
Cabin was clean and the AC worked well. However this was supost to be a room with 2 Queen beds. One of the Queen beds was just the box spring. However it was made up with a sheet, pillows and comforter. This was missleading.
Also the security of the location was not great. There was a 4 digit code for room access that was very obvious. So if you have stayed there before you can figure the code for any of the cabins.
Stayed in cabin 2 and was very satisfied. Could use a few more hooks on the wall or place to hang clothes. Was clean other than a few minor things and relatively comfortable. Good value for your dollar.

I booked this unit 2 weeks ago. When we showed up the whole project was closed for the winter. The host texted that we would have to find another place.
We rented 4 cabins and had a wonderful time. The cabins were very clean and had everything we needed except washcloths! The owners were often around and easy to speak with. Being near the highway was no problem and we all slept well. Everyone in the area was extremely helpful and friendly.
Let me start by saying I don’t do reviews. Until I came across this dumpster fire I booked. We were arriving late and I had just finished a medical infusion. On arrival, we had no lock code to get in. Lucky that every cabin was unlocked, we looked into “cabin 2” and it was absolutely disgusting. The beds were clearly dirty, damp towels and overflowing trash. We tried several times to reach the host by phone with no answer or voicemail message that confirmed this was even a good number- just a beep and weird road noise that signaling it was time to leave a message. we finally reached the host by text back roughly 30 minutes after arrival. They were rude and had an excuse that the cabin booked last minute by someone else. We received no message or update regarding this. They switched us to cabin 6 and thought it was ok because it was “bigger.” It was just as filthy with bugs in the sheets and window sills. We tripped over weeds knee high to get around the outside and the view from the back window was garbage and disintegrating pallets. We slept in our clothes and on top of the bedding. The beds must have come out of a 1980s yard sale with squeaky springs and made for a sleepless night. Zero stars and I probably have hepatitis from this stay. Be warned.
Room was ok. The bunk beds were broken and held together by zip ties. Also there was only a half roll of toilet paper and no backup rolls. All the shower soaps were empty. The exterior and surrounding area looked run down with overgrown weeds and broken chairs. My wife did not feel comfortable based on how it looked.

Disappointed
We were disappointed in finding that there was no toilet paper, we could not get the T.V. to work, and the quilt on the bed was covered with hair. We attempted to contact the property manager but had no answer.
Thought we had paid for the entire rental at the time of reservation but there was no communication from the property manager to know that we had only
Paid deposit. No request to pay the balance and when we arrived at property it was impossible to reach the property manager. Luckily we found a hotel or we would have been SOL! Pretty disappointed with the whole experience. And they kept our deposit on top of everything ….
1. There were no instructions on how to check in. The contact provided on the confirmation had a full voicemail and did not respond to a text. No alternate contacts provided. Fortunately, there was a neighbor cabin that provided a number to owner. After an hr we finallly were given a code to enter the cabin. We got the cabin code, and the room was not made up, dirty floor, bare beds, spiders, no towels, and very cold. After extreme frustration for an hr, he gave a code to the cabin next over which was available. It was slightly better, but still cold, dirty floor, one towel, half roll TP. We went out for food and locked the door handle. That was a huge mistake because apparently you are only supposed to use the deadbolt code and not the door handle lock. They (owners) did not have keys and said we shoudn't have done that! This was a saturday night in November at bear lake, which was basically deserted for the winter. We went to dinner and 3 hrs later they somehow unlocked the door. The cabin also has a very tiny heater and it took over 5 hrs just to get to a temp that you didn't have to wear a heavy coat. And it was running all night and needed heavy blankets to sleep. A very unpleasant stay and not a place to stay in cold conditions. In summary, they need at a minimum some basic directions on this horrible property for checking in, who to communicate with, and how not to get locked out of the cabin. Just don't stay here and save your sanity.
The cabin was easy to find—right off the main highway going north towards Garden City. It’s got two queen beds, but the second is lower to the ground and feels a bit less comfortable. It was just my wife, our dog and I, though, so we used the more comfortable mattress, no complaints there! The bathroom was stocked with toilet paper and hand soap and everything worked. Hot water ran in the shower. Toilet worked fine. They don’t have shampoo or body wash in the shower, so bring your own.The kitchenette was functional but small: there’s a sink, a microwave, and a mini fridge. We microwaved popcorn and had no problems. The fridge kept our stuff cold. I didn’t trust the water from the sink for drinking, so we brought bottled water with us.The WiFi here is quite good, which was a pleasant surprise. Once we signed in with the password the host gave us, we had zero issues. One thing we weren’t aware of is that this cabin is in the worst possible spot for mobile service (at least for Verizon users). It was so bad that I couldn’t access the VRBO message with the WiFi password with my mobile data from the cabin, so we had to drive into Garden City to get mobile service, access the message, screenshot the password, and then connect when we got back to the cabin. Kind of a hassle and I wish we had been warned.Overall, this cabin was clean, cozy, comfortable, and just a short drive into garden city and to the various beaches. We had a great time here. Allowing pets was a huge plus!!
This cabin was very comfortable and roomier than expected. I was delighted that it had a little refrigerator for my leftovers. It could use a few more dishes to complete the small kitchen, which we did not expect. I liked that it had a soft bed and a harder bed. My husband and I got to sleep in the bed that suited us.
The toilet kept running, but it did not disturb us.
Pulled up and casually asked the fire bike guy and he dismissed me completely and said I needed to talk to the maids which the old laundry was still out on the porch when I arrived hence why I was asking if the cabin was available or I needed to check in. Upon arrival it is only four stations on the TV, you are next to the highway which will wake you up all night and the air-conditioning was not working and the pillows look like a child’s bedroom. Also there was no toiletries or coffee cups so if you come please be sure to bring all of that and the toilet was running the whole night. I left at 6 AM to get back home.

Not worth the price
Convenient for lake fun and out doors stuff which is good because the cabin itself was not up to standards for the price. Requested cabin with single bed and got one with two instead so didn't get what I paid for right off the bat. Linens didn't include wash cloths. A/C couldn't be adjusted or shut off. Heater was way too small for the room. Very few TV channels so a guest would almost have to bring a laptop or a Roku device to watch anything. Fire pit was filled with garbage and the people at shaved ice place next door were very loud. An elderly couple switched cabins from the one they originally booked almost immediately because the one they had was used by another guest the night before so I believe there was no house keeping service cleaning the cabins after each use. Was it close to everything that should be experienced? Yes. Was it worth the price? Absolutely not. Especially for the off season.
Great place for a weekend getaway. We enjoyed the cabin and how close it was to pickleville playhouse and garden city. It was also fun to be right next to the custard shop. The heater worked on the night it was cold and rainy and the AC worked on the night it was hot. So we were able to stay comfortable throughout. The only complaint we had was the poor wifi. We were never able to connect our phones to it unless we were over by the custard shop. Other than that it was great!
Management needs to pay attention to checkin times. Beds not made up -- No sheets! No towels or washcloths. Finally got sheets & towels at 9:15pm. Also, Coffee cups should be provided. There is a nice coffee pot & filters -- but no cups!

Needed more supplies and better furniture.
It was a nice little cabin but the beds were horrible……my back hasn’t hurt so bad in at least 15 years. The bathroom was nice but there were only 2 towels for our 3 night stay and one roll of toilet paper..,… totally unacceptable. Also the place should have a small desk or table and a couple of chairs. Also a sign or laminated card with internet access information. I own a business and that was a serious inconvenience,

Bear lake cabin
This is a nice looking cabin type property. The cabin inside was lacking some finishings that showed in the pictures, such as table and chairs to eat at. There are no dishes or utensils in the kitchen., it has a very small fridge. The floor inside was not clean and I had to ask for top sheets when we arrived. As far as this type of rental, I have been in many others where small amenities are provided, bath soap, kitchen dishes, kitchen towels, etc. I would probably not pay this much again to stay there. Also, the WiFi information provided never did work.
