"Overall we enjoyed our stay at The Sparrow Hotel, however there was one major issue concerning our room (411). There was hardly anywhere to put our clothes! There were no shelves in the room (apart from those with the tea/coffee facilities and safe on them) and no drawers either! I’m not sure where we were expected to put our underwear, tops and jumpers. In addition, we were only given four coat hangers and had to request more (5 extra hangers were given to us). Clearly no member of staff had ever stayed in this room nor thought about places to put clothes! The staff were generally very nice and friendly, however the man with white hair who was on Reception was very unwelcoming upon our arrival. There was no smile nor anything like ‘welcome to the hotel’, absolutely no interaction apart from giving us the necessary information."

"Perfectly serviceable lodging for me, two kids and my mom, for three nights. Best thing about this place is the location. On the quieter side of GS, but near the harbor and ferries. Close to everything you want to see. Room is fine. Elevator to bring your bags up. Reception was polite. We didn’t have breakfast. Shower makes a mess (squeegee for floor, provided) but it didn’t dampen our experience. Well priced, excellent location, would stay here again."

"I liked the hotel’s modern design and overall aesthetic. The burgers at the restaurant were delicious! However, I was disappointed that the room didn’t include a refrigerator or microwave. The room is also very small for four people, making our stay less comfortable than expected."

"There were 2 lovely women at the front desk most of the 4 days we were there. They were amazing, especially since they always had people checking in and out. Unfortunately the hotel doesn’t have a concierge which was frustrating. We had a record player in our room that for some reason we couldn’t figure out how to use it. The one time that two young men were at the front desk I asked them how to use it, and they said they had no idea and to ask the cleaners😖so I gave up. After that I only went to the women to help me get a taxi or to recommend a restaurant. Great location, great breakfast, nice bartenders and wait staff. Need to add to the snack menu at the bar (cheese and crackers, pate, fruit plate, etc) The outdoor patio off of the bar was awesome. Terrible and limited menu at the restaurant with the other outdoor seating area."

"Interesting concept to have a hotel in the basement. No windows took some getting used to but it was nice and quiet for sleeping. The staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good for those who liked the options provided but not great for picky eaters as it was all ready made."
