Excellent, large property

The Castle is beautiful, spacious, and homey even with many people including children. There are lovely bedroom accommodations from twin to king to cribs, a fantastic large kitchen, and everything you could possibly need.

Gatlinburg family reunion

Had a great stay at the castle. With the huge dining room and 9 bedrooms it was plenty of room for our family group which numbered 17. My best memory, which might seem small, was the dinner my granddaughter prepared for us one evening.

Royal Treatment

The Castle on the Green was an excellent place to stay! The house was spacious and the setting was beautiful! It was convenient to be able to feed all 24 guests together at one long dining table. The kitchen was stocked with all of the essentials. We will definitely stay here again!

Castle thanksgiving

Castle was clean and roomy for our group of 18. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were comfortable. Only drawback was very spotty cell service and internet was poor unless you have a VPN. A storm came through when we arrived and we were out of power for 17 hours but still had a great trip.

Felt like medieval times!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the castle! It was so much fun seeing all the king and queen decor! We would definitely stay here again. The only downside is the lack of WiFi inside the castle. This was a major bummer for our teenagers.

Sibling spouse Retreat

Everything was great! Family get together for the first time since Covid, the house fit all of our needs! The host was gracious and allowed us a late checkout. We traveled from Michigan, Virginia, Missouri and Arkansas. If you have big family , this is house for you!

Family Thanksgiving Giving 2022

The Castle On The Green was absolutely perfect for our holiday stay! We cooked up a storm in the well equipped kitchen. The two refrigerators and dishwashers allowed us to seamlessly pull off an Epic Thanksgiving feast! Everyone was comfortable as soon as we arrived. The rooms are spacious and everyone had their own bathroom! We would definitely book again!!!

Spacious Rooms and Baths

Property owner very responsive to inquiries. It is an older establishment, so please remember that things are not brand new. Also, remember that cell phone and internet service are sporadic at best. Dining room was excellent for serving many people together. Accommodations comfortable. Issues provided to property owner were addressed.

Great place and location

Had a wonderful time for the second year. Do feel like it ready for a few improvements. Our mattress was awful. Kept rolling off the sides we had the room straight across from the door. Plus floor has not been mopped in a while. Our feet were black! Thank you for the great emergency kit. It did come in handy this year.

Great house!

We all had a great time! There was plenty of room for all of us, the rooms are very spacious and the house has everything you need! Having two ovens, two dishwashers and two coffee makers was definitely a plus! The internet is very spotty, but we knew that going in because it is mentioned in the listing. The only thing we weren't prepared for was the lack of tv channel options, mainly for children, but we didn't spend a lot of time watching tv anyway. Overall, the house is great and we definitely enjoyed our time there! P. S. A bear broke into my sisters Jeep twice through the soft top, so I'd definitely recommend a hard top if you're bringing a Jeep. LOL!

Really nice place, but WiFi is horrible and cell coverage is minimal. Watch for errant golf balls.

Our family of 22 rented this for our Christmas get-together. We had a really great time but our only big complaint is the WiFi is basically useless. The one thing that frustrated us (which isn’t the owner’s fault) was a golf ball getting hit through a second story window. I called the main number since I hadn’t noticed the maintenance number. The person who answered didn’t even ask if anyone was hurt. Maintenance came by and was unable to repair, so they just taped up cardboard. If my nephew had been sitting near the window at the time it happened he would have been injured.

Big Space/Big Rules

The castle has a lot of space. The bedrooms are all well kept and have plenty of room with good bathroom access. Other than the giant dining table, there's not a great area for the large number of guests you are likely to have at this location to gather and hang out. Living room and basement are small with limited seating. Everything felt kind of dusty/old on theme with a castle! The technology within the house is lacking. TV's don't get many channels, and the internet sucks. Having a bunch of disclaimers during the booking process isn't an excuse. It's 2024, fix the internet. There are signs everywhere posted with rules. Usually hand written or poorly made by someone who clearly doesn't know how to use a computer. If you just need a place for a large number of people to sleep, this is great. If you want a cozy location to gather with your family or friends and relax, I would look elsewhere on the mountain.

Fantastic family get away

We had an awesome time at the castle. Everything was clean, private, and beautiful. It was so large that we didn’t even know we had children with us. You couldn’t hear noise from out on the porch into the house. It was well equipped with two fridge, , two stoves and big icemaker . Plenty of space for everyone.. I especially love the fact that the host left garbage bags, some dishwashing soap, some dishwasher pads, toilet paper, and a few paper towels. Especially since we had people flying in, but couldn’t pack much in the suitcase. This was a real blessing.. the biggest highlight was watching a mama and baby bear walk across the property in the daylight. She didn’t bother anybody and we were all delighted. The pictures didn’t do it justice, and everything was in working order. We had someone in a wheelchair and the wheelchair accessible room was perfect. I recommend this to anyone with a large group, conveniently located as well.

Great getaway in the Great Smoky Mountains!

Overall, the place is very nice and clean and ready to support a great weekend in the Smokies! We arrived to a thoughtful gift basket (including dog treats.. thank you!). We all agreed the place is even nicer than the photos let on. We didn’t see a picture of the grill, but just know that the grill does not have a lid. Also, the Wi-Fi is almost like it’s non-existent. There’s actually 3 Wi-Fi’s and none of them worked well or consistently and most phone apps couldn’t load data. So, it’s ok if you’re unplugging and don’t need internet. But look elsewhere if internet access is a necessity. Electronic communication between our group was difficult when at the house. We enjoyed the pool table, the hot tub, and the backyard view of the mountains—- especially watching a storm roll in! Thank you for having us! We had a blast and would visit again!

Great reunion location

Ease of getting to everything worth seeing made the stay work for us. Each day at least 3, usually 4, groups went off to different destinations to pursue different interests. The furnishings were more than adequate. The bears were exciting and frequent visitors. The listing should not refer to the dungeon if it is off limits. This was our only problem but late arrivals and early departures took care of it.

Family Reunion

Everything was amazing! From booking to checkout, it all went smoothly. The house worked out perfectly for our family. No one had to share a bathroom and it was nice to have one in each suite. The house had everything we needed to cook, both indoors and on the grill. Having the icemaker was a huge bonus! The house was easy to find and not too far from attractions, restaurants and grocery store. Becky was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend this castle for large groups or family reunions!
