Great cabin...poor parking

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our vacation. It was definitely a top of the mountain location! However, the parking situation was treacherous! We tried to get into the parking area ONce. Couldn't get turned around or up the super steep drive. Played Blackhawks trying to get out. We ended up parking down the road near orhe cabins. Which was not ideal walking back in the dark. Also the outdoor lighting (motion) didn't work. But the cabin itself was ideal!

Great Cabin

The cabin itself was in great shape and we didn't have a single issue the entire five days we were there. I'd mention that there isn't any street parking and the driveway is very steep, so parking several cars would be a challenge.

We landed at Moonshiners Cabin and we were so pleased with our stay. The cabin was beautiful and very clean. The staff was attentive and checked in with us to see if we needed anything. It was relaxing and perfect for a few more days of fun before returning to real life.

Cozy tucked away property

This place has a amazing view of the mountains from main bedroom. Parking area has steep incline but can park on side of secluded road. Staff is very friendly and responsive. I definitely recommend this place for couples or with the kids.

Had to park up on the street for the snow storm that was coming in, but no traffic so it wasn't a big deal

Great place to relax and enjoy the view

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental experience was top notch. Cabin was spectacular with a gorgeous view. Our family enjoyed the hot tub on the deck and the huge entertainment center in the basement. The only issue was parking our truck in the driveway. It was too steep to get in the driveway. We parked in the cove at the corner of the street. Very close to downtown Gatlinburg.

Moonshiners trip

Only negative was me and my daughter slept in the basement and it was freezing! Needs a pac unit down there or some heat vents. I could only find one in the bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked and grilled out. Bathrooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The driveway is a bit tricky but mastered it after first night. This is our third time staying with Elk springs thank you and we will see you again very soon!!!!

Relaxing and beautiful

It was clean, had a lot of amenities (more than I could use!) and the things I've become accustomed to malfunctioning, with the other rental companies, worked and worked well. The only thing that caused any discomfort was the impossible task of getting a consistent climate. The loft bedroom was extremely hot, and the bedroom in the basement was unforgivably cold.

cute cabin but needs some TLC

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There were carpenter bees on the porch over the hot tub, no place comfortable to sit out there. Very weak jets in the hot tub and hair all over the filter. The floors in the cabin turned my feet black. That parking spot was really treacherous, no stairs just a steep hill. The pool table was old and not red like shown in the picture. One of your can openers is broken. The sheets were uncomfortable. There is no light above the downstairs shower, very dark shower lol. The cabin itself was ok, internet was decent.

Never Again!!

Reviewer Comments: Moonshiners view, awesome place the downfall we had to purchase light bulbs for lamps, empty propane upon arrival, and the worse they had construction 40 yards up the road all we heard for four days was construction when I reached out to elk springs I was told sorry for the inconvenience. I went to the mtns to have a peaceful 4 day stay and it was just obnoxious with construction and there vehicles from sun up to sun down. Including I had to back 100 yards up the rd to get in driveway! This was a large waste of money for something advertised as being scenic and peaceful

Decent cabin

Reviewer Comments: Cabin was in a good location and convenient to gatlinburg, just know that it is a 30 minute drive to the closest Walmart so plan accordingly. Overall the cabin was clean, when we first arrived the floors left our feet black and the company did send someone out the next day to correct, the large picture window looking out over the mountains was pretty dirty and ruined the beautiful view from the master suite loft. I feel the cabin description was accurately described, I enjoyed the theater on the bottom floor and the pool table, hot tub had a great view from the deck and it was nice to have a grill for steaks! Also the cabin is in a great location to get to all the activities and attractions for both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The driveway and parking area however are HORRIBLE, very steep and narrow, I have a full size F150 with 4WD but didn’t feel comfortable using it so we were forced to park at the top of the drive on the road, there are only two more cabins on the road so at least the traffic isn’t busy and I didn’t worry about parking there. Last issue I would bring up is the ceiling over the living area has mold growing, hopefully they will take care of that soon.

House Great, Location Great, Logistics...Not great.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home has pro's and con's, as with any vacation rental. Nothing is going to be perfect. This home is comfy and the value of what you get compared to a hotel/motel is tremendous. Pro's : decently stocked kitchen, full bath on main level, lovely view, fun entertainment area downstairs with projection TV and pool table. Room to sleep many - 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, 1 futon, 1 pull out sofa. Very centrally located and GPS takes you right to the door (we use Waze). Surfaces and appliances of the home were clean. Con's : Driveway - OMG - this alone is worth picking another house...and there are plenty to choose from. You can fit ONE vehicle at the base of the STEEP drive and it takes an 8 point turn for a mini van. There is no way to back down this driveway as it is curved, steep, slanted, and the road is narrow up top. You cannot park but one vehicle. They provide added sheets and blankets for the sleep sofa, but no added pillows. There is not bedding for the futon - just one or the other. The hot tub kicks on ALL NIGHT so the queen room downstairs sounds like an air compressor is in the room. The living room furniture stinks of old smoke and an allergy nightmare. I found trash under the sheets of the downstairs bed - tell me it was not changed over. The floor was gross and needs a deep clean, and the windows are covered in dead bugs and spider webs. Do not use the grill either - moldy, along with the grill brushes. This home would be a 4 of 5 if they would CLEAN and decorate a little. The mantle is nothing but wires and electronics - not super appealing.

Awful cabin and driveway

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Renter BEWARE! Driveway is nothing but a big hill! If you have a low profile car you will drag. All floors were sticky. If you want to go back to the 90’s this is your cabin!This cabin was not the one we picked, but apparently the water in the other cabin we rented was not working. When elk springs texted me the photos of this cabin I told them I would like a different one, and was told either to take it or leave it. No one tried to accommodate us, with help finding us another cabin, or one suitable to the one we picked out. Asked for a refund and was told it would seven days. Also this cabin was $400 cheaper than the one we had booked, and I had to request our partial refund. I’m sorry, but the customer service at elk springs is horrible. I will never do business with them again.

Moonshiner’s View

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This review is for the Moonshiner’s View cabin. The cabin is very nice, like all the Elk Springs Properties I have stayed at. It is in a great location, near the Arts and Crafts Community of Gatlinburg. It is decorated with pics of actual moonshiners, which is a nice touch. Now the bad - the parking is atrocious. I tried to park my Jeep Grand Cherokee by backing down the narrow driveway, and you have a rock wall on one side and a drop off on the other. There was very little margin for error. To make matters worse, there is a metal drain cover on the side with the drop off, and I was worried if I ran over it that I would get a flat tire. I requested another cabin and the folks at Elk Springs Lodge did a good job of finding me another cabin, and even gave me two options. But when I left, I tried to stay away from the metal drain cover and ended up scratching my alloy wheel on the rock wall, which I am going to have to pay to repair. Beware the parking at this location if you have an SUV or a truck.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin is in a good location and the cabin set-up is nice. However, the parking is horrible due to the incline. My wife and I are elderly, and I could not recommend this cabin for an elderly person due to the parking. We had to back down this steep incline to get to a flat area with gravel to park and then walk uphill to the cabin.
