"My family of 10 stayed in Villa Estrella for 6 days. Our host was extraordinarily helpful. Besides excellent directions to the villa, he provided detailed information about local markets, restaurants, hikes, and particulars about the villa, all of it very helpful. He was immediately available before and during our stay.The villa is perfect. The photos do not do it justice as fabulous as they are! It sits at the far end of Gaucin, a charming white village, located within driving distance of Ronda as well as the beach towns on the cost.The streets of the village are narrow and hilly. Rent as small a car as you can. You do not need to drive within Gaucin except to leave, everything of interest is walkable.The streets re narrow, hillt, and winding. There is sufficient parking at the villa. "

"The house is amazing; huge, clean, well-equiped and the view is speechless. The owner is available to answer any questions as well as Esther who is in the village to welcome you and answer any other questions you may have. If you are looking for a quiet village, this is perfect. We did a few trails which all started iin the village. You can also find a few grocery stores. Since it was early in January, not all restaurants were open. We arrived by train and took a taxi from the train station located in El Colmera (no train station in Gaucin)). The only taxi drive, Javier, is fantastic!! We had a great time!!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay in Casa el Tigre. We spent our time doing local mountain sports (e.g. via ferrata). El Colmenar is a small village with limited facilities, but has a useful train station (useful for a day out in Ronda, for example). The owner (Juan) was helpful and very friendly. We'd recommend Casa del Tigre."

"This is a lovely house in the mountains, perfect for a quiet getaway. The house has been thoughtfully furnished and stocked to make your stay comfortable. Even down to a few supplies for your arrival to replenish at your leisure before you leave. Esther, who was our local contact, was very helpful, in particular when there were a few slight technical hitches, which she solved quickly. Just be aware that there is a short, but steep, gravel drive from the main road, and our hire car struggled until I got the knack of it. Would thoroughly recommend staying here, and would not hesitate in booking again."

"Our recent stay at La Posada Romana was fabulous. Nestled into the hillside under Gaucin, with breathtaking views of mountains, the Mediterranean Sea and even North Africa, this villa exceeded our expectations and allows for the perfect relax and escape. Other reviews have mentioned: smell of mould - no evidence of this on our trip old towels - not a concern for us, additional pool towels were also there. The villa and grounds are stunning. Inside - large living spaces, tasteful décor and comfortable furnishings - fully equipped kitchen, allowing us to prepare anything we wanted to (the first time we have had everything needed for large group catering) - spacious bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, and terraces We spent every evening after dinner on the main terrace watching the sunset followed by moon and stars. The comfy seats, outside fans and bbq is great too. The brand new outdoor pool is gorgeous - an absolute hit for our group and couple of frogs too! Sun loungers with another covered terrace for shade allowed us a couple of afternoons of extreme leisure. The villa's location was ideal for exploring the surrounding region. Gaucin (with great restaurants - La Fructuosa was our favourite) is walkable, albeit steep, but otherwise a car is essential for getting about (the approach roads to the villa are rough country roads so an SUV is highly recommended). Miren and Diego were always available to answer any questions and were lovely to us. Our whole group loved it!!!"
