While I anticipated a medieval castle environment, I found the preservation of the entire environment to be astoundingly well done. The village and abbey are wonderful places to explore. We arrived late in the day (around 5p) and left the following day around noon. Short exploration before dinner and then visit to the abbey in the morning weee adequate but we could have planned a few extra hours to spend more time meandering in the village. Overall a great experience. "
