Customer service outstanding in all aspects. Everyone helped make our stay enjoyable. Front desk had many restaurant recommendations and sightseeing tips. All were good. Can’t say enough about how helpful the staff was.

Great hotel in a great location. Staff were wonderful and made us very welcome. Lots of great ideas of things to do. Noise from hawker market opposite was very loud but the ear plugs helped massively. Probably nicest hotel in Georgetown from what we saw.

Loved the whole old work vibes of the Edison. A wonderful oasis, with large well appointed rooms that feel lux in an understated way. Great bathroom, comfy bed. The hospitality of every one of their staff was outstanding. Had some great food recommendations from Albert. Loved the all day lounge where you could grab a drink or a snack and the we one hour where as a solo traveler I got to meet so many wonderful people. Overall, an excellent experience.

Calmness in the heart of Georgetown

Beautiful small hotel in the centre of Georgetown. Super relaxed / at home vibe when staying there, and the building is very interesting.

Quaint interesting historic hotel

Great hotel with a lot of history. Amazingly helpful staff. However if walking up stairs is an issue for you then maybe not stay here - no lift although there are ground floor rooms

This hotel is an excellent choice!

This is a beautiful,1906 hotel that has been maintained its historic floors, metal post and iron works, and general appearance. The breakfast was nice and the lounge was open with drinks and snacks all day. The people were very helpful and did their best to make our stay happy! We recommend it!

We loved the historic element of the property. The location in Georgetown, Penang was also perfect. The best part of the stay was the excellent staff who offered many great suggestions for food and sightseeing and generally extended such wonderful hospitality.

Lovely room, great service, comfy bed. Fantastic welcome and orientation to the hotel and area. Room on main floor was very noisy from room above, so maybe take upper room if light sleeper (though could be noisy wirth rain)

A true boutique hotel

The band across the street played loud music until 2330. The staff were amazingly wonderful and good. This is a true boutique hotel not to be confused with anything modern, but it was truly comfortable and charming.

Albert and his team did a great job hosting me for 2 nights ! Hotel is efficient but also very laid back . It’s an old mansion and some of the public areas do not have AC . Anywhere you would like to me had AC and was comfortable ! Free non- alcoholic drinks and snacks available . Breakfast prepared to order eggs were great ! Lap pool is good location to chill out after a busy day ! Looking forward to returning ! Check my postings I don’t give many 5 star ratings

Very warm welcome at a beautiful boutique hotel

I felt the contiental breakfast could have been more generous and varied. Only one small bowl of fruit available " this seems unfair in a country of marvelous fruits at v cheap price.also no fresh juice just packet Bathroom only separed from bed by curtain ok but not ideal for privacy on" the throne" Manager and staff very friendly and helpful with excellent recommendations Great location for sightseeing and restaurants- interesting historic building beautiful appointed

The staff there were super friendly and helpful just like expected, I love the pre dinner drink session and 24hours lounge. Understanding the house is a vintage property, the structure condition may not as good as the new built, however some of the hardware facilities were slightly disappointed. Like the bathing robe, and bed sheets. In general it was a present stay and definitely will revisit Penang.

A modern colonial boutique gem.

The Edison is a comfortable friendly boutique style hotel with a modern colonial vibe. Very well located in the heart of heritage Georgetown. Decor is elegant and understated. The real strength of the place though is the staff. Really nice service at all terms. Friendly and seemingly informal but ever helpful and anticipating needs, with nothing ever too much trouble. My stay was for 6 nights and it never faltered and if anything just kept on getting better. If you have mobility issues be sure to ask for a downstairs room as there are mo lifts. Only slight quibble was that wifi data rates were patchy. But overall it’s strongly recommended.

This boutique hotel offers everything. Awesome staff. Big rooms. Enjoyable breakfast. Love the happy hr. Get to meet other guests. Staff always happy to help and recommend options for dining in the local area. Albert and Phai Lee and other staff were always on hand to help out. Great old building beautifully maintained. The pool was an added bonus after a long day exploring.
