The Gifu Grand Hotel offers a traditional Japanese experience featuring excellent showers and panoramic 12th-floor views of the Nagara River. While the hotel provides convenient luggage storage and is well-positioned for viewing the illuminated Gifu Castle at night, I experienced challenges with the breakfast buffet management. Specifically, the buffet runs out by 8:30 AM, yet the hotel still charges full price. I don't recommend the hotel buffet. Overall, the hotel serves as a comfortable, scenic base for local sightseeing, provided guests plan for meals elsewhere.

The hotel is very granular, however sadly it is also very old. The staff tried very hard to help but English is not common in the area, so lots was lost in translation. The onsite restaurants we booked out in advance so we had dinner at the ‘bar’ however this did not spoil the food, it was exceptional. The staff even though didn’t speak any English were very pleasant and tried to help in every way.

There was an exceptional housekeeper (Ms. Yamashita) making the room with a personalized touch; one yukata set on the bed I slept and new glasses on coasters where I used on the desk instead of putting all original places. This touch would make visitors special (probably old-school) but it won't be noticed unless you stay a couple of nights there.

長良川と金華山が見える場所にあるので、景色は最高です。近くの飲食店まで距離があるのでホテルのレストランを利用しましたが、コースメニューは数日前に予約必要で、断念。

イベントがあり夫婦で宿泊しました。鵜飼が宿泊日に偶然始まり花火が上がると知り、みたことなかったので見たいと相談したら、食事対応の方に料理を早めに出してくだいました。しかし、時間には間に合ったの出してくれ起点をきかせてくれました。料理も美味しく頂きました。部屋に靴下あるのですが、どこも足袋ですが、スニーカー用の靴下で良かったです。部屋で化粧品類があれば良かったです。ウェルカムドリンクなどあれば良かったです。駐車場も玄関前に停められ便利でした。地下にもあるそうです。機会があればまた行きたいと思えるホテルでした。

お部屋が綺麗で完全バリアフリーで快適！

車椅子使用の高齢の母を連れての旅行でした。 夕食は日本料理をオプションで。車椅子のまま座らせていただき、お食事も鮎の塩焼きなど、岐阜ならではのお料理がとても美味しく、お料理の提供のタイミングもスムーズでした。 お部屋も高級感があり、トイレもバスルームへの入り口も段差がなく完全バリアフリー。ベッドも広く快適でした。 また是非伺いたいです。

部屋にあるユニットバス

現地では大きく立派なホテルだと思いますが、温泉がある事で部屋内のユニットバスに清掃等目が行き届いておらず ユニットバスを使ったところ、排水溝のつまりでユニットバス内床に排水があふれ、自ら排水溝を掃除しましたがそれでも解消されなかったのでフロントに連絡して急遽清掃してもらいました。しかしながら、何年も掃除していない位ゴミが詰まっており、清掃後も滞在中はユニットバス内の洗面や浴槽からの水の流れが悪かったです。その後チェックアウト時にもその件に対するコメントは無く、チェックイン時に支払った入湯税を再度請求されるなど、ちょっと困った対応でした。
