"Room was clean and a good size, over the bath shower. Lakeside view was lovely. Peaceful stay in a quiet hotel. Breakfasts were hearty, fresh and locally sourced Cumberland sausages. Sunday roast good but the deserts were a disappointment. Overall happy we will be back to stay again "

"Room was average for the price paid but overall looked tired. Very old pub and traditional rooms but that’s no reason to ignore mould and damage to the bathroom and paint flaking off the walls. Light fitting was hanging off by exposed wires. In the evenings the pub downstairs is busy with a lot of noise heard upstairs until about midnight. "

"Very clean, modern rooms. Excellent customer service from staff, very friendly and accommodating both in terms of hotel and restaurant service. We had an issue but it was resolved professionally. "

"Lovely old country house in beautiful grounds . Paid extra for a lake view , but not much of it to see. Staff are lovely . Breakfast , plenty to choose from , toast and juice not topped up or asked if we needed anything else. Room was basic for amount paid. Walls needed cleaning / repainting. Bathroom , dust and spiders ,black mould in the shower, needs a deep clean. Bed was broken and didn’t fit together , and made a lot of noise when getting in and out. Clean bedding , and towels. No complimentery biscuits . Cheap , thin toilet rolls. Overall a lovely hotel , but needs attention to detail especially cleaning . Tea is disgusting , couldn’t drink it. "
