Yavapai Lodge

Yavapai Lodge

10/10 Excellent
"This place was outstanding. It is hard to say enough good things about this place. It is well situated within the park, but not a 'short walk' to many of the sites. There is a shuttle stop that is easily accessible. The room was nice and adequate. It isn't the Ritz Carlton, but that's the point! There is a large General Store across the parking lot from the restaurant and tavern, and it is extremely well stocked with items. The restaurant, cafe and tavern are excellent, but what really stands out and shines are the people. The managers, supervisors, restaurant workers, bartenders and barkeeps are all top notch and offered a superior level of service and outstanding attitude. We experienced the flash flood and power outage (featured on the news), but that didn't slow them down or diminish their spirit or level of service, either! If I return to the Grand Canyon and need a place to stay, I would book the Yavapai Lodge as my first choice due to the outstanding experience I had this time."

"Great location if you want to see Grand Canyon at any point. Right in front of the lodge the free shuttle bus will pick and drop you off. Staff are efficient, rooms are clean. The only not so good is their food court. A bit pricey, $7 US for one piece of avocado toast that is barely spread in the toast. But over all a great place to stay for Grand Canyon adventure."

Grand Canyon Hotel and Suites

8/10 Good
"hotel is conveniently located, which is definitely one of its strengths. We arrived late at night and are leaving the following morning, so this was a relatively short stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff at check-in were very friendly and welcoming. The A/C worked perfectly throughout the night, with no issues maintaining a comfortable temperature. The interior of the hotel, however, feels somewhat dated and could definitely use a refresh. The colors and décor are very muted and dull, which gives the property a somewhat dark and depressing feel rather than a bright, welcoming atmosphere. Some updated colors, furnishings, and finishes would make a significant difference. Parking was completely full when we arrived, although that is understandable during the busy summer travel season. We did not have enough time during this stay to use or evaluate the pool. Overall, the hotel provided a clean room, good A/C, friendly service, and a convenient location. The biggest opportunity for improvement would be modernizing and brightening the interior."

"This place is nice. Very close to the park, just a short drive and nicer than hotels in the park (although all run by Xanterra). I'd stay here over staying in the park if you have a car."

Bright Angel Lodge – Inside the Park

10/10 Excellent
"One of the more affordable options to stay close to the rim. The lodge has good options for food, gifts and the location is fantastic. Having no air conditioning wasn’t too bad in the rooms as it does get cooler at night."
