Enjoy Lake Superior and beautiful
of this amazing custom built 5 bed/ 3 bath home! Located in a prime location the house is only about a mile from town, restaurants and the beach but yet far enough away to still be able to get away from it all. Also close to the trails enjoy the ability to just be able to jump on your snowmobile or ATV and head right out from the house.

The first level with it's open floor plan living, dining and kitchen areas feature the best view in town. The Kitchen is fully equipped for every chefs dream with custom knotty alder cabinets, granite coutertops and all the essentials. There is also a massive industrial style dinning table and a breakfast bar that looks out over Lake Superior for plenty of seating to entertain or enjoy all those home cooked meals. The first level also includes the bunk room with a lounging area and large flat screen TV and a full bath.

The second level features a central TV lounging area, two king master bedrooms, 2 full baths, another king bedroom with a sleeper sofa and double bedroom with sleeper sofa. There is a large covered balcony that has panoramic views of Grand Marais, the break wall, the lighthouse and Lake Superior, its the perfect place to sit back relax and enjoy a good cup of coffee!

And if you enjoy snowmobiling or side x siding you are going to love this custom attached toy garage that has it all. This custom garage was designed with convenience in mind and features garage doors on both ends for a convenient pull through option. It also offers tons of storage so you can hang up all your helmets and gear and the best part, it has heated floors! No more frozen sleds or wet gear in the morning, just walk out into the heated toy garage and head out on your next adventure!
There is also a attached 1 car garage and tons of parking in the driveway for all of your vehicles, truck and trailers. And the driveway is a circle drive so no more backing up trailers or trying to figure how to get turned around.

We absolutely love The Ridge! We had a fantastic time as a family. The game room was the perfect end to our day, as well as the campfire & making s'mores. The house is beautiful and spacious. Everyone had their own room and the beds are so comfortable. Our family created wonderful memories. We plan to return! Thank you JD!

Great Location

We've been staying here for a couple years when there is snow in early December. JD has been great to work with over the years and has been very accommodating. I would highly recommend staying here. Perfect for snowmobiling or any other outdoor activity you may like in northern Michigan.

Great house & beautiful location!

The house was awesome! Lots of room and more than enough bedrooms/bathrooms for three couples to spend a few days together discovering the UP! We explored the area and had a great time! The fire pit and backyard are beautiful and the game room was a bonus. Thank you for sharing your slice of paradise with us.

Family going back to our father’s birthplace

With four siblings and their spouses, we converged on a beautifully appointed home in the woods! Campfires, walks, games in the large yard overlooking Lake Superior, there was so much much comfort, joy and relaxation in the house! A warm fireplace in the great room, large eating area, table big enough for all, lovely large bedrooms! The garage so big we could play cornhole! Our stay was just delightful, and we wholeheartedly recommend this home!

Spectacular

Fabulous house. Great accommodations. Beautiful views. We visited Whitefish Point and Sault Ste. Marie. We also spent a day in town. It was fun to visit Grand Marais Tavern and the Dunes Saloon. I would recommend to stay here if you enjoy the outdoors but want a place to come back to so you can cook out, make dinners, enjoy the fire, and visit with family or friends.

Amazing property

The views are absolutely stunning! This house has it all and it is a beautiful house! Comfortable and well thought out and well appointed. We didn’t get to use the garage (we don’t have toys) or the fire pit (weather) but the house fit us perfectly and was a great location! The property owner was helpful and kind and a great resource! Yes, it isn’t cheap, but worth the money, esp if you have toys! We had a great stay. Thanks!

Exceptional!

The Ridge is an amazing property. Wonderful amenities and so clean we felt like we had just moved into a brand new house. The gathering space and seating area accommodated our family with space to spare. The bathrooms and bedrooms are spacious and the beds and pillows are comfortable. The view from the many windows is amazing! We very much enjoyed the attached garage/game room and exercise room and the attached garage on the other side of the house for storing bikes, coolers, shoes etc. The owners have thought of everything. Including wood and kindling as well as lighter fluid for the fire pit. They surprised us with s’more supplies placed on the kitchen table. There is much to do in this lovely area of the upper peninsula. One week was easy to fill with activities and we can’t wait to return again. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home.

Reunion

Best VRBO house we've ever stayed in! Re-lived a family vacation from 30 years ago to the UP. House was plenty big enough for the next generation with 7 adults and 4 kids under the age of 6. Didn't use 1 full bedroom. JD and Jason were great hosts and very helpful before and during stay, neighbor is remote enough, but was very nice and came over to warn us about a bear in the area. House is better furnished than our own house, beds very comfortable. Game room/yard games provided endless entertainment. Very clean and easy to clean. The toy garage hosted many dance contests. View of Grand Marais harbor and sunsets was amazing. We wish the house was about 10-12 hours closer to us so we could go back more frequently. Only negative comment (and this is very very minor) a few extra dish towels would be helpful. To avoid some gravelly roads, map directions to Grand Marais and then the house, rather than directly to the house.

Phenomenal

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at the Ridge for a week in August 2023. What an incredible property!! We have been coming to Northern Michigan/U.P. for 15 years now, and hands down, this was the nicest house we have ever stayed in. The views of Lake Superior and Grand Marais Harbor from the house were jaw-dropping. We never got tired of looking out the windows and were sad when it was time to leave. The house is spotless and extremely well-maintained. The owners are fantastic to deal with. They checked in periodically to make sure everything was going well and to see if they could answer any questions. The house was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. (We used the large propane grill to cook dinner each night.) Plus, we were greeted with a treat basket full of delicious goodies, as well as two high quality thermal tumblers as a welcome gift. We have never felt so appreciated as house guests! We had a blast playing all the games in the separate game room -- foosball, ping pong, pop-a-shot, corn hole. My husband used the separate exercise room every morning. The house is ideally situated to explore Pictured Rocks, as well as other nearby attractions. (Crisp Point Lighthouse was a highlight of the trip.) Grand Marais is a magical place, made all the more special by being able to stay in this incredible property. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

Everything we needed and more!

The cleanliness and comfort at the Ridge was top shelf! After a long day of riding we returned to a game room, a wonderful kitchen, comfortable TV areas, and a heated garage! The host responded promptly to any questions and was super organized at the house. We are looking forward to a return trip.

Great house for snowmobiling group!

Third stay at this property, and we love it. JD, the property manager, is very responsive. Heated pull-through garage is awesome.Kitchen is fully stocked, just bring full bean coffee for the coffee maker - it grinds it fresh!Beds are firm, but very comfy. Internet works best, even with 8 of us using it. Lots of parking for snowmobile trailers and vehicles. Perfect location just minutes from town, and awesome views!We'll be staying a fourth time in the future.

A gem in the middle of nowhere

We’ve stayed at this property three times and it’s beautiful, clean, accommodates big families, gorgeous view, fun amenities (game room, yard games, fire pit). Noticed cigarette butts outside but the house doesn’t smell of it. Would definitely recommend!! It’s hard to find something so nice in the Up
