"Every room was immaculately clean and tastefully dressed. The cupboards were well stocked with more than enough for 4 people. The weather was not good to us but would imagine in the spring/summer the outside space would add to the enjoyment of staying here. Will return to find out!"

"The Squirrels is in a great location especially if you have a dog. The grounds are absolutely beautiful.The place is clean and all very neat. But very limited on space. It’s is what it is a Shepards hut!!! A must if you are in the area is the Tin Roof Cafe entrance is in the garden centre on the main road to Danbury. Also The Cricketers in Danbury their food is amazing especially Sunday roast it’s a must."

"The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. We had everything we needed. Location is peaceful and idyllic on the lake and is really easy to get to. We felt safe and secure behind the gates. The bed was super comfortable and the house was super clean. "We had a wonderful stay at Rose Cottage. It is the perfect little getaway, cosy and comfortable with a gorgeous open fire. Mark was a kind and helpful host, even lending us a Yorkshire puddings tray to make Sunday Roast! Highly recommend "

"Everything was as listed….the log burner was an added feature which we were happy to use on rainy days. The location was really goid… Colchester close and historically very interesting. North of the city was Constable country… nice walks and interesting info on the artists. South we enjoyed Tiptree museum, and the Salt marshes for walking and photography. Ovreall it was everything we wished for “"
