This little gem was clean and very conveniently located between Great Barrington and Stockbridge. Ample parking right in front of the room. Did not meet any staff nor use any amenities ( none at hotel but apparently able to use amenities at the Red Lion). Clearly an older property but clean and comfortable

We loved none formal do it yourself option. Room was small but had 2 comfortable beds. We loved the fact that we could use Red Lion Inn amenities because The Little Lion doesn’t have much. The Little Lion has separate room that was welcoming and can be used if people want to have breakfast or lunch to go. Room has 2 sitting areas like dining room and family room with big fridge. Bathroom window needs screen, otherwise when you open for ventilation, many things can crawl inside. Overall we enjoyed it.

It’s in a beautiful location. Very clean. We never saw any staff because our room # and key code was sent to us. Went very smoothly. We really enjoyed our stay here. Only negative is some of the furniture is getting a little worn on top, and tv is a little small for the room, but we will definitely go back when we are in the area.

Clean and comfortable room for reasonable price. Central area/lobby is nice place to sit and read, relax, and/or eat breakfast (coffee provided). Also red Adirondack chairs up on hill behind rooms and small tables/chairs in front of some rooms. Can use the outdoor pool and whirl pool a few miles away at the Red Lion Inn, which is desirable feature on summer days. A few negatives. While the building and rooms are set back from the road, it’s located off a busy road that goes between Stockbridge and Great Barrington. You will hear the cars during the day. It’s also not what I would consider an “Inn” as it’s really a motel. It used to be the Briarcliff Motel before the Red Lion Inn purchased it. Any questions, requests, or comments need to contact them as the Little Lion didn’t have any full time staff and no one at front desk in the lobby when we stayed. We received text with code for room door.

Unfortunately the power went out around 10 pm and never came back on by the time we left at 7 am. We tried reaching out to staff at the Red Lion, the parent company of the Little Lion. No one picked up the phone nor responded to our message. We had no power, no lights, no water, no A/C. Other than not being able to get a hold of staff our stay was very good.

A nice safe and quiet place to stay. Park right in front of your door. My dog loved the large grass area. The room was large and the beds very comfortable. The heat was on when we arrived which was great . It was cold and snowy that day. I loved having the self check-in and check out. We plan on going back the next time we are in the area.

First, there was no staff. I got a text with the room number and code. The code didn't work and we finally called the number they gave us. Then it worked. The room was pretty clean except for one spider web (with spider) behind the door and another web (with spider) in the corner by the floor lamp. The worst problem was the rug. The wall to wall was covered with an area rug that was full of wrinkles and bumps. We stumbled several times. We tried to straighten it out but the velcro-like under-mat (which was full of dog hair) didn't stay in place. It was truly dangerous walking on it. The beds were fine. There was a "table" (more like a round end table) that was VERY small, There were 2 sort-of chairs. One was wicker and very low. The other was a low stool with a cowhide covering, no back to it. They were in a place where you couldn't even see the TV while sitting on them. The grounds were wonderful for our dog. After a car pulled up with a black lab in it we found a fresh load of dog crap at the end of the building. The place makes a point of telling visitors about picking up after their dog, but not everyone thinks the rules apply to them. The location was great, but we wouldn't stay they again.
