Bruno and Chantal were consummate hosts. I loved my room with its view of the garden, a decor accented with vintage radios and alarm clocks, a spacious modern bathroom and adjacent WC. A practical command of French is helpful, as the coversations surrounding breakfast, cocktail ( choice of aperitif, beer and wine) and dinner (not included, but highly recommended as Chantal is an excellent cook. Be sure to request some of her Basque specialties. Everything is homemade.

It belonged to Pierre Laclède, founder of Saint Louis (Missouri). It has remained in the family ever since.
Excellent (continental) breakfast included in the very low price.
The village of Bedous is charming and there are at least three quite decent restaurants.

What a wonderful place! This chateau has been lovingly restored back to its former glory by the current owners with modern elements and artwork incorporated. A charming small hotel on the French / Spanish border. The couple who run the hotel are as accommodating as can be, and really a very nice experience. We were hiking in the Selva di Irati park, and this was one of the closest hotels. We were very happy with our choice. Would highly recommend!

Nous sommes restes au clos Mirabel et ce fut une excellente surprise. L’endroit est bien entendu magnifique mais c’est surtout la gentillesse et le professionnalisme des hôtes (Rachel et sa famille) et la qualité des prestations qui nous ont enchantées (superbe maison, et Rachel est une excellente cuisinière qui a pu nous faire un excellent repas sans que nous ayons prévenus).
Ce fut une parenthèse très douce et agréable pour nous et nos deux enfants.
Nous sommes restes au clos Mirabel et ce fut une excellente surprise.
