Location, location, location! A favorite comment about this condo is that it is located on the first floor above beach level, right beside the open steps with only one neighbor's door close by. No reason to walk and wait for the elevator! There is no better location on the beach than being right next door to the Festival and Beach District of Gulf Shores, AL. It is just a short walk from your 111 Island Winds East condo to the Hang Out, restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and the various seasonal festivals. The new owner of 111 A has made changes and upgrades to this beach condo that will make you want to call this your beach home away from home and return every year! This spacious (1,000-square-feet plus) 3 bedroom, 2 bath condo has all new mattresses/box springs and bed linens, new flooring in all bedrooms, new smart HD TV's in each bedroom. There a king size bed in the master, two fulls in bedroom #2 and a queen in bedroom #3. Both updated tiled baths with granite counters have shower/tub combos. Kick back on the balcony and enjoy the Gulf breeze and view-all new comfy seating including pub table and chairs. Island Winds has an inviting Gulf-side pool that is heated seasonally from fall through spring and charcoal grills with outside seating. When relaxing from sun and surf, the spacious family room with walls of windows and a large screen TV is open to the newly painted kitchen with granite countertops -- perfect for family and friends gatherings. In addition to your refrigerator, range and dishwasher, your condo has its own washer and dryer. Along with a fun getaway to the beach, you'll have a wonderfully quiet rest -- the building was recently upgraded with all new dual pane windows and sliding glass doors. Make the decision to escape to 111 at Island Winds East and feel the Gulf breeze calling you back every year!

(The total cost of your reservation at Island Winds East #111 does not include the cost of the Parking Pass. The Pass must be purchased onsite upon entry into the complex. The cost of the parking pass is $50. ***The condo owners' association only allows 1 parking pass per condo***)

Fabulous location, extremely clean and comfortable, quiet too! The only negative I could mention is the complex is slightly dated and the bathrooms could use updating but nothing that made a big difference to us We had a great stay- would definitely book again

Family vacation 2023

This condo was great for our family. Very clean and fully stocked. The beach was only steps away. Loved the pool and grilling area. The location couldn’t have been better. My teenage grandchildren loved how close everything was. Restaurant, shopping activities were all within walking or just a short drive. I highly recommend this condo and location.

Property was just as described online, nice place to stay. Convenient to all Gulf Shores has to offer. The property itself needed a few minor repairs, the bathrooms needed repairs. No overhead lighting or fans. Hot water ran out quickly.

Listing states no need to take elevator to enter first floor condo. Neglected to say, must take stairs if not taking elevator. Hallway bathroom sink faucet loose, spout on tub loose from wall. Reported both to maintenance on arrival. Great location. Easy access to beach. You can walk to restaurants and stores.

OK condo, not great, not bad. Floors were dirty, otherwise clean place. Beds were comfy. The view is mainly of the parking lot. The contract promised 2 parking passes but was only allowed one which was inconvenient. The location in Gulf Shores was good.

Checking in was easy. Convenient to activities. Mold on ceilings and in ac vents, not healthy especially with kids. Had seen post about the mold in reviews and then read it was updated. Not updated, mold still present.

We requested beachfront, but got the side. There was sand in alot of places in the condo when we checked in. A couple of devices were loose in both bathrooms, we called about but nothing was done. The location is perfect though!

Parking problems

The property is in a good location, but they only provide one parking spot per condo. Be prepared to have a 4-5 block walk to access any additional vehicles at local paid parking. Building is starting to show its age and the pool was being renovated during our stay.

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. Very large, very close to everything, and steps from the beach which was nice. The kitchen is one of the best equipped in a condo that I’ve ever stayed in. Everything you could possibly need to cook a meal is there, however, it needs a corkscrew. We had to borrow from the neighbors. The king bed was more comfortable than our bed at home! The only issue we had was there was no chain lock or dead bolt on the inside of the door. There is only the electronic keypad. Our toddler was able to open that door and run freely out if we weren’t watching her closely. We ended up going and purchasing a child lock to add to the door during our stay. Also, since it’s only the keypad lock, the only way to know for sure the door locked behind us was to try to open it when we left. Once that it closed, it didn’t lock, and the keypad code would not have been hard to guess, either. I’m giving it 4 stars just because I think security is pretty important. Other than that, we were very pleased with the condo. And once we added the child lock and figured out how to make sure our keypad was locked, we had no other complaints.

Old, shaggy, ill furnished, dirty tatered curtains, loud air system.

Don't be fooled by the pictures. Upon entering, I was embarrassed. The photographer was a genius. The property is an older, maybe one of the first high-rises in Gulf Shores. Cardboard inner doors, curtains with holes and overly long with nasty bottoms (in Living Room). Beat up and nasty dining chairs (and only 4 chairs for a 3 bedroom condo(?). Really? Very small bathrooms, beat up front door that scrapes and screeches, loud AC system (sounds like a jet taking off). And don't try to put 2 people in the kitchen...you can't. Just old and not kept up. The balcony was basically useless unless you want to sit in the parking lot. Not what you're looking to check into. I was looking for a decent place to stay and it was very disappointing. We had 2 teenage girls in a bedroom with only a TV table with 2 tiny drawers...clothes everywhere! if you are looking at this...just don't. It's not very nice and unless you live in a run down trailer park, you are going to be very disappointed, too. And once you arrive you are pretty much stuck with a bad decision..for a week.
