"All of the staff were quite friendly and helpful. We loved the grounds, the location, and the beach - great access to Tunnels, Haena, and Hanalei/Princeville communities. The sunrise view from the premium ocean view rooms was fabulous. When it rained and the wind blew(which it did a lot during our stay the last week of July/first week of August), the balcony was often uncomfortable for sitting outside. Our unit was not as well equipped as would have been useful for a stay as long as ours where we prepared meals onsite. Basic dishes, cooking utensils and pans were provided, as were salt and pepper. We had a 15 day stay and the room was cleaned once during that time. The hot water was the hottest I have ever encountered, which was wonderful for showering after a day in the water! What we haven't figured out was why our welcome email asked what our plans were (we had our wedding on the island and wrapped our honeymoon into the trip) - we shared that information but as far as I can tell, it was for no real purpose. We are not terribly well traveled, so maybe I missed something that others will be aware of."

"It’s the third time we’ve stayed at the Hanalei colony resort. It’s such a magical location if you’re into a more rustic mellow vibe! This place was great. Suffered from a bit of mildew but I don’t think I’ve found a place in Kauai that doesn’t!! Beautiful spot, appreciated the laundry packet and snacks ;) oh and watch your foot on the bed frame, I broke my toe the second night on it!!"

"We spent 12 days at the Tiki Hut and it was one of our best rental experiences in Kauai. The privacy was perfect and the host struck exactly the right balance, available if we wanted anything, but never intrusive. The property itself was spotless and the grounds were beautiful. Being a 5-minute walk to what's arguably the best beach on the island was a huge plus.What really stood out was the thoughtfulness of how the place was so well stocked and nicely furnished. Everything you'd need for a day at the beach or a night cooking in was already there, and Toni left snacks, coffee, and wine to get us through our first day without a grocery run. Small touch, but it made a big difference after a long travel day. Also, really comfortable bed and great shower with good water pressure.The 2-person hot tub was a nice bonus, and in great working condition. That's rarer than it should be. Every other rental hot tub we've used has had some issue.We'd highly recommend this place without hesitation and can't wait to stay again. "We absolutely LOVED our stay! What a perfect little get-away! The furnishings where adorable and tasteful throughout! For less than the cost of a hotel room you can not beat the value and charm of this location! The the beach, just a three block walk away, is second to none! The only detraction (if you can call it that) is that you are literally in the jungle - as is the entire area of Hanalei. For us this was a plus and exactly why we love to vacation here. For some this might be a deterrent as there are a lot of delightful creatures to be found but for us it simply added to the experience."
