We really liked our stay in the hotel. The owner was really helpful telling us the places to go visit. He was kind enough to let us use the microwave and provides cutlery for our food. He also shared with us where we could get some bear sightings in a safe manner. Overall, if you are going to Haines, I would recommend the hotel.

I loved this place, and Jeff the host was wonderfully helpful. However, the Expedia pictures are grossly misleading, thus, my poor experience. There is no bar, no restaurant, no breakfast. But my room was clean, this was a historic place, and I would still recommend it.

The location is superb. As room amenities, there was only a TV set with local channels. Good free coffee and tea in the lobby. Comfortable bed and a small but functional washroom. Being a historical building, do not expect any modern comfort. Didn'tiss any, though. Would recommend...

We felt welcome and had a great stay at the hotel. It is a clean, cozy, beautiful heritage building overlooking the ocean and green spaces. Will likely stay there again. The price is also attractive, compared to other hotels in town.

The host was especially nice and helpful. The rooms had a gorgeous view of Haines which anywhere you look there is a beautiful snow capped mountain view.

This is an older building that maintains it's character. It might have a few dings and chips but it is a lovely piece of history. We had a wonderful stay. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The bathroom, while small, had a really nice warm shower. We had a beautiful view of the harbor. There is no food on site but downtown is within walking distance with a few restaurants and grocery store. Jeff ( the owner) was wonderful and full of good information. I would highly recommend a stay here.

The property is an old building with lots of history. My room was clean and Jeff was very helpfull. Coffee and/or tea were. Available at the front office area. A microwave was also available there. My room had direct access through a back door which was very convenient for taking out my dog and easy access to my car. The adjecent properties share the history of a former military fort.
