It was a great location, and we were able to see the lake and the very top of Mt. Fuji. The hotel was very clean and well looked after. Staff are very polite too! One downside was that the hotel design didn’t take the hot spring baths into account. The baths were very small and did not offer lake views, which made the experience less enjoyable given the potential views we could have had.

The check-in process was poor. Even when I parked my car at the front entrance to check in, no staff came near me, and I was encouraged to take care of all my luggage myself. The location of the property is amazing right in front of Lake Ashi. Beautiful views and close to trails and historical areas. The hot spring spa (onsen) are very nice and clean. The hotel itself is old and a bit dated but still worth it.

A comfortable hotel with amazing views

Hakone Hotel is an older hotel that is well maintained with the staff creating a beautiful and comfortable atmosphere. The hotel is designed so that all rooms have a view of lake Ashi that is enhanced by a large picture window. We will definitely choose this hotel if we return to Hakone
