Lovely, classy older hotel. Beautiful setting, fine restaurants, Mount Fuji View, and wonderful men and women Hot Springs Spa, which combine indoor and outdoor small hot pools. Reachable from Odawara bullet train station by bus or bus rail combination.

I only booked a room for one night but Hotel de Yama was a great place to stay. It's a short hike away from the Motohakone stop, and if you choose to walk it you will need to walk on the road. Cars in the area seem to be used to this though so as long as you're on the shoulders you will be OK. Otherwise, they provide a free shuttle bus that picks up directly in front of the 7-Eleven by the bus station The hotel itself is quite close to the torii gate, which is nice. I didn't get a chance to use the public bath, but the Japanese style breakfast in their restaurant was really nice and delicious. Due to my short stay I also didn't get a chance to explore the large garden area, but it seems very well kept by the staff, from what I saw from my room window.

Hotel de Yama was great. This place has a real mountain lodge feel to it. It is remote and very quiet but within a mile of fun activities. It was the perfect lay-over between the hustle and bustle of Kyoto and the hugeness of Tokyo. The rooms were nice. The restaurants were both great. The grounds were amazing, especially the garden. The staff was super helpful. And the onsen was next level - so relaxing. Would come back to this place in a heartbeat

Beautiful hotel! The location is amazing! It is on a mountain and the views are incredible. 5 minute walk to the peace tori! Our room had an amazing view of lake ashi and mount fuji!

Very nice onsen , beautiful and clean. With a nice view of lit up trees, very peaceful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Most importantly we saw Mount Fuji from the beautiful garden which was the highlight of our visit in Hakone.

Very comfortable and relaxing stay with a beautiful lake view, excellent service, and delicious food. I’ve already recommended it to a friend and will definitely come back again. Close to Hakone Jinjya Heiwa 平和の鳥居. Walk around 7-8 minutes.

Beautiful hotel

I really enjoyed my time at this stately hotel. The staff are beyond helpful, the room was very comfortable, and the baths were just what I needed after a long day exploring the region. The restaurant was able to accommodate my gluten-free needs for breakfast and the shuttle bus from Motohakone was great. This is a region that needs to be experienced and this is the place to do it in comfort.

Awesome onsen and beautiful garden. Nice location next to Lake Aishi with a good restaurant and nice little shop. Room was ok, but purposely didn't spend much time in there. Would stay again.
