The perfect home to create your Island Traditions

This traditional Harkers Island home is the perfect place to unwind from the hurried world. Originally built in 1925, this water view home is in the middle of the quaint island known as Harkers Island. Even though this island is off the beaten path, it boasts some of best fishing and hunting around. You are minutes from the famous Big Rock Blue Marlin tournament that takes place in June and it is home to some of the world renowned decoy carvers which can be seen at the Decoy Festival the first weekend in December.
You can take a ferry to Cape Lookout seashore and go shelling or shop in the quaint shops of downtown Beaufort.
This home has 3 bedrooms, two baths and sleeps up to 8. If you have your own boat, there is a public boat ramp right up the road and covered parking at the house for your boat and car.
Known for it’s traditional ways, come immerse yourself in the island life and begin making your own Island Traditions.

Lovely location

Quaint little cottage on the island. It made our weekend away feel homey and intimate. We ventured to cape lookout and found some wonderful shells to add to the houses collection.

Excellent Place to stay!

Harkers Island is a great place to stay if you love the beach but hate the crowded beaches. We had a great time, did the best we ever have fishing! The owners are so sweet and very good with communication. Told us the sweet history of the house and answered any questions we had. We will definitely be back!

Introducing new Friends to the cape

This is the perfect little house to stay in if you want a quiet getaway with access to everything. 20 minutes to Beaufort, all the essentials on the island. This is t your typical beach vacation...perfect way to experience harkers island. Host is amazing and the house is better supplied and laid out than most other rentals.

Pleasant well-equipped modest home

Spacious place, older and fairly simple but well-maintained and with a well-equipped roomy kitchen. Comfortable beds. Very welcoming atmosphere. Excellent value for the money. Two small possible improvement suggestions: some foldout chairs for the front porch, and some wine glasses. Wish it had more of a water view and easier beach access, but a good base for local explorations anyway. No complaints !

Quiet and spacious

Very comfortable house, loads of space and lots of storage. We really loved the welcome basket filled with goodies! Plenty of towels, blankets, and essentials. The front bedrooms were extemely bright at night, so much so that we spent a good part of our second day shopping for sleep masks. The beds were very comfortable though and there was plenty of room in the closets and dressers. Some of the soap dispensers were almost empty, but there were so many other things provided that made up for it - shampoo, conditioner, bottles of water, etc. A lot of very welcoming touches that were much appreciated!sexond

Wonderful trip with my girlies

This place was everything we hoped for and more! Cute little vintage home and once inside all the little extras you could need! A welcome basket with treats and even face masks for me to enjoy my time with my daughters- it has been so long since we were together! We enjoyed stained glass classes right down the road-a must do! Loved going on the ferry to see the wild horses and the lighthouse. Great evenings watching movies and snacking. It was so relaxing and fun! Hope to come back!

Perfect Family Vacation For Your Family

This little get away on Harkers Island is perfect. The house is in a great location and is everything you need for a weekend away at the beach. The host and her husband are always available for any concerns or questions. We enjoyed our stay and will be back again soon.

WE WERE ON A 30 DAY VACATION THAT INCLUDED 3 VRBO 7- NIGHT PROPERTIES AND A ONE WEEK PRIVATE TRAVEL CLUB PROPERTY. THIS VRBO WAS NOT THAT DESIRABLE. WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO FAMILY OR FRIENDS.HOWEVER, THE THREE BEDROOMS WERE NICELY DECORATED AND FURNISHED. THERE WERE NICE PICTURES AND DECOR ON THE WALLS THROUGHOUT.1. THIS 100 YEAR OLD PROPERTY HAD AGE RELATED ISSUES AND MAINTENANCE ISSUES.2. THE MICROWAVE STOPPED WORKING THE 2ND DAY BUT THE OWNER REPLACED IT THE SAME DAY WITH OUR GRATITUDE.2. THE BUGS, ESPECIALLY LARGE ROACHES AND FLYING INSECTS AND THE BACK PORCH WERE A CONSTANT NUISANCE.3 THERE WAS A NOSEY NEIGHBOR.4. MANY OF THE POTS AND PANS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.5. THE CARPORT ROOF HAD HOLES, SOME LARGE.6. THE STOVE AND REFRIGERATOR WERE OLD AND VERY WORN. 7. THE SCREEN DOOR TO THE SCREENED PORCH WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO OPEN AND CLOSE.8. NO DISHWASHER AND NO WATER IN FRIDGE DOOR AND NO ICE MAKER.

Very nice place. Not modern but it was so comfortable and charming we would highly recommend for its appeal. Close to Harkers island ferry and museum. Short drives to Beaufort and Morehead city for some great food and waterfront scenery. Good Times!

Great time at the house in Harkers!

We had a great weekend. This house was a large space for four people. It had front and back porch which we loved and we were in very close proximity to the water. There were lots of amenities including a coffee/tea bar area with lots of selections.This cozy house was in good location was close to our boat slip. The fishing was fantastic! We will definitely be back.
