The Bissing has character to spare, and is perfectly located to find dining downtown. The rooms and breakfast were top notch. We were crossing the country on a road trip and the Bissing and Hays are absolutely worth planning a stopover around.

For the price this was a pretty and nice place. Lovely home and fun old furniture/decor. However, it seems like an ongoing project. Painting issues, nail holes in wall, drapes that don't quite fit, etc. The bed/pillows were great. The room was comfortable. Immediate response to questions (we lost our door code). Fantastic breakfast. Attentive staff.

The Bissing home was delightful. Decorated to the period with many photos of long ago to admire. Room and bath were very clean And bed was quite comfortable. I would highly reccomend it!

The place to be to catch the spirit of Hays. A surprisingly cool town with a rich history. Management absolutely top-notch, friendly, and proud of their city. Clean, charming accommodations near the old town center.

Our second time here and it was as good as ever! The staff are very friendly and attentive (even after their family tragedy) and we appreciate that so much! We walked to a nearby sushi restaurant for dinner and it was also surprisingly good.

Beautifully restored and updated Victorian in the heart of Hays. Wonderful staff and service with delicious made-to-order breakfast. Lots of amenities including a binder detailing historic profiles of the namesake of each room. Glad we found this gem through Orbitz. Already made reservations to stay there again on our return trip.

We found this property and saw the reviews as well as the reasonable price so we went ahead and booked it. Wow! It was better than expected with easy parking, walking access to a nice brew pub and the best breakfast anywhere! The breakfast with other like-minded travelers was pleasantly unexpected. We will be back!

Our room was decorated with furniture from the appropriate era, however the chair was broken and the lights would flicker due to old wiring. The floor squeeked loudly when walking on it which could wake people up. On the positive side, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was outstanding and the home was pretty cool. Street parking is available.

We arrived around 6 p.m. We had a code to enter the B&B and our room. The room was clean and the bathroom was roomy. There was a small flatscreen Roku t.v. on the wall and a coffee maker, small fridge, and microwave in the room. Lighting was ok...best in the bathroom. Breakfast was good. The only off putting part of our experience was that according to directions in the room, access was limited to the hallway, front porch, and our room. Usually, in my experience, all but the kitchen and private quarters are open to guests, which makes the experience nicer than being in a hotel. Also, it would be nice to be greeted by a human unless arrival is very late. We were alone at breakfast, but for a quick minute met the attendents who brought out breakfast. I love B&Bs partly for the social aspect...so if that matters alot to you, this isn't the place. A bit of clean up in the yard and on the porch (and a few real flowers rather than fake flowers on pots) would create a more welcome first impression too. Overall, this was an ok stay.

Very nice place!

We stayed one night from trip of Arkansas to Colorado. The breakfast was good, Michele was friendly. Room very quaint and shower great with up to date. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were a surprise. Knew it might be a challenge for my husband to climb to 2nd floor, and it was since he's had a stroke, but would stay here again.

An OK experience … certainly acceptable. But let’s be honest … this is an old house that needs repair and updating. If you like antiques, then it’s fine. However, be prepared for squeaky floors, squeaky beds, and facilities that are not are not quite up to snuff. There are only 3 rooms, and it can be noisy while neighbors are getting settled. Otherwise definitely quiet and away from the hubbub of I70.

The house was in a good location. Only street parking is available, but it was convenient and there was always space. The house is definitely “antique”, but everything worked; water flowed, toilet flushed, lights came on, etc. Wood floors squeeked throughout the house. Hosts are available via text only and were not always responsive. Even though breakfast is included, it was nothing to write home about. You are probably better off going somewhere else for food. All in all, not a bad stay, but not a destination either.

Super cool historical home turned into a hotel, I came to Hays from Nashville to see my friend play a concert at the Fox Theatre. Literally a block away, the staff was super friendly, and everything was clean and well kept! 10/10 of I’m ever back in the area, I’ll be staying back here!
