Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel
5/5 Excellent
"We had a good stay at Berkeley Hotel. The property is clean and the amenities are great. We didn’t get to use the gym or the pool, but the proximity to the beach is fantastic.
Some areas for improvement:
1) Better training for staff - On two separate occasions, we were dealing with two staff members who were very friendly but didn’t really know what they were doing (front desk and pool).
2) Towels for the beach. Our group consisted of women from LA and Vegas, and we all took the NJT train from NY Penn. None of us had beach towels, and the hotel’s policy of not bringing hotel towels to the beach posed a huge inconvenience for us.
3) Bell service and doormen - when we arrived (via Uber from the NJT station), no one greeted us, or offered assistance with our luggage, despite there being 3 gentlemen sitting around by the front doors. Not a great first impression.
