"We just got back from our lovely stay in Maine! We chose this cottage specifically for the nearby lakes and the kayaks. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate, it was cold and rainy pretty much the whole time, but we did get out on the lake once. The kayaks are easy to use. Our host suggested we use a kayak cart to walk the kayaks to the water, but it was only a few houses down and my husband and I front and back carried them if you find that easier. "The property manager was extremely responsive and helpful with the AC not working and the smoke detector going off in the middle of the night. The property was mostly clean except for the windowsills (we had to open the windows to air out the woodstove smoky smell downstairs) and the used kleenex on a kitchen shelf. The bed was very comfy. "My family stayed here over labor day weekend. Very cute cabin with all the amenities of being at home. This was perfect as minimal packing is great with a 2 year old 10 year old. "The Wee White Cottage is at the end of a private road. In October when we stayed we had the neighborhood mostly to ourselves. It was wonderfully quiet. The cottage is rustic but nicely decorated and had everything we needed. It felt like home. The lake is only steps away. If I had to use only one word to describe our stay it would be relaxing!"
